My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like to get outdoors (and out of the city!) whenever I can, and usually head for a mountain to hike or ski, or a beach to lay on and stare at the ocean. Plus Central Park and East River runs in between.

When I'm home and not working, I spend my time on projects like cooking, home improvement, quilting, and trying to teach my dog funny tricks (he is old enough now that this is really hard).

I have a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and curiosity. I can't imagine a life that didn't involve constant self-improvement, exploration, growth...

If I could have a super power, it would be teleportation. Checking out far away places is awesome, but the trip there is NOT. It would be cool if whoever I was touching came with me when I zap myself to Kawaii.

I love cracking people up with the exact right pithy comeback. I also love using words like "pithy" in everyday conversation.

I'm completely tone-deaf but I promise not to torture you by singing to you.

The thing other people say about me the most (to my face) is that I'm "real." I'm still figuring out exactly what they mean when they say this.

INTJ, if you're into that sort of detail.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Learning, making, eating, listening. NOT adopting every homeless animal I want to adopt (but walking them at the shelter instead sometimes).

Work-wise, I'm a web developer at a tiny enterprise software company. I also have a small business on the side with a business partner. We're aiming to open a brick-and-mortar in Manhattan next year.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
languages, eating, laughing, being there for my friends/family, cooking, knitting, being on time, remembering random stuff, asking follow up questions, not giving a shit about what strangers think/expect
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
A cabbie once told me I have a great smile. And you know cabbies are Manhattan's oracles, so it must be true.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Choosing to answer only the one I'm most interested in talking about:

Fish tacos, authentic ramen, breakfast food (anytime), kimchi (and all Korean food, especially the wonderful banchan), micheladas, a nice Tempranillo. Recently developed a taste for IPAs...

I love to cook, especially when I'm making a huge meal for people. I host Thanksgiving in my tiny apartment every year and invite anyone I know of who's in town with nowhere to go. This year, I spatchcocked the turkey! About 85% of that decision was based on my wanting to say "spatchcock the turkey" repeatedly. Proof: http://imgur.com/RDL0Fpa
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- family
- my dog Arnold
- hobbies/projects
- good food (any kind as long as it's good, but especially good coffee)
- new things to learn/do
- proximity to the ocean
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future. Data. How to keep marginally-valuable stuff out of landfills ... and how to encourage more people to value those things instead of always wanting the new/bigger/better version.

What to eat for lunch/dinner. Business plans. Whatever my current project is.

Why doesn't OKC ever seem to log me out?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Eating something, somewhere, usually with someone else.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think a scruffy 3-day-old beard is hot, and I'll never complain about getting "rug burn" from your 5 o'clock shadow

You're handy, smart, honest, and work hard for the things you want. You love to eat. You're not religious or into drugs.
