My name's Charlie. I started college as a philosophy major but ended up with a business degree. I like excellence in any arena pretty much, and I like people caring about things. My friends tend to prefer indoor activities, so I spend more time with that than outdoors. I like games just fine and all, but I very much enjoy hiking, boating, et cetera.

I'm a banker. Right after college I sold securities (left BEFORE the late unpleasantness, not because of it), and I learned from that that I love money but don't quite have the ethical flexibility required for sales, so banking is a good fit. I'm also looking for a house, but Saratoga county isn't dropping price like the rest of the country for some reason. I'm going to get this one already built, because I don't know what I want well enough to design my own yet. The house I rent now is one thing, but being able to customize changes things, I'm sure. I will either build my next one or my third, depending on whether I need more space for a family before I'm ready to build. The custom one will be my last house. I also picture living in upstate NY forever, but who knows?

Philosophy, business, reading people, planning, looking at things logically, math, writing, anything involving money, cooking ingredients. Not so much meals, at least not efficiently, but I like making the kind of things most people who do cook just buy. Cheese, peanut butter, pasta, and so on. For all that though I just can't master bread. I'll make it in a machine, but not properly. Some day. As for meals, I can do it, but no better in the 3 hours it'll take me than most folks will in under 2.

See above for examples. I also very much enjoy TV shows as an artistic medium (maybe not so much as a phenomenon. Moderation in all things and such.) Contemporary shows I follow are True Blood, House and Heroes. I watch others, but won't make efforts to catch up most of the time if I miss one. I have more shelf space dedicated to TV on DVD than movies.

Money
Really, I love money. Won't bore you with economics.

Audiobooks
I love audiobooks and lecture series on audio (www.teach12.com). For those of you who don't listen, I should point out they eat into one's music time, not one's reading queue. At least for me.

I am kind of selective, but I'd rather do my own screening after than make a decision before even meeting you. I'm also more geographically inflexible than most, so if you live fifty miles away I'll chat all day but odds of anything happening in real life are very low.
