What I’m doing with my life
I spent 17+ years raising two daughters and enjoying educating them outside of the confines of conventional school, and working part time as a college instructor. I am divorced and moving forward. I am interested in pursuing new friendships, new relationships, and new interests, as well as long time interests that were put on hold during the more intense child raising years.
I love the arts, pretty much all of them. I move in and out of creative endeavors, I love art museums and arts/craft exhibits.
A favorite hobby which I have taken up again is photography. I've finally come into the 21st century with a digital SLR, and I love it.
I love learning new things, but my favorite thing to learn about is the universe (astronomy, cosmology, etc). I want to know how everything works, I want to know how it all fits together, I want to know our place in all of this grandeur.
I love spending time with my daughters. They are amazing people, very interesting, and they really keep me from getting or feeling old! They keep me up to date on the entire teen culture from music to fashion even while I share my own tastes with them. They are courteous enough to not laugh too loudly when they see what I looked like as a teen!
I'm in the process of decluttering both my home and my life, deciding what is worth keeping and what no longer serves me well.
I'm ready to enjoy exploring what life can be like without the responsibilities of young children.
I’m really good at
I'm told that I'm quite good at processing emotions and
experiences, as well as listening to others while they process. I'm
emotionally fairly mature, intelligent, and intense. I feel things
very deeply and believe this is a strength. I'm also intelligent,
witty, perceptive, caring, sensitive, sensual, creative, artistic,
spiritual, deep thinking, humorous, thoughtful, thoughtfully
sarcastic, compassionate, dreamy, idealistic, playful, and

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love to read non-fiction, usually in the sciences or anything
spiritual (though not necessarily religious). Lately I've found
some Buddhist teachings resonate strongly with me. The fiction I've
enjoyed has included science fiction, fantasy, and stuff my teens
like: Harry Potter, Wicked Lovely series, anything to do with
vampires at least in part to blatantly critique it! Tearing apart
the Twilight series is a favorite pasttime here!
I like comedies, romantic comedies, the occasional action flick,
and Star Trek, Dr. Who, Fringe.
I'll try almost any food but easy on the onions. Haven't gotten up
the nerve to try calamari yet but it's on my list. Spicy is good.
Ate lamb's brain once without knowing what it was. Once was more
I enjoy most types of music but especially classic rock. I'm not
hugely knowledgeable but I'm willing to listen to almost anything.
And to learn more.

I spend a lot of time thinking about the universe in general, how
we got here, the nature of life, beautiful things.
