My Notes edit

My self-summary

So this is always kind of a frustrating annoying part, or at least it has been on sites like myspace and facebook. Who knows how to summarize themselves? Maybe you'll be able to gather little bits and pieces of information about me from the other sections here I feel like filling out right now and practice your own personal psycho-analysis. We all do it.

P.S. I think I'm going to go overboard on the movies/music/books section, because I'm a big geek like that. I'm going to copy lists from my facebook or something.

What I'm doing with my life

I write and record music; occasionally I'll go play my stuff at Acoustic Coffeehouse or somewhere like that. I'd like to one day be able to make a living off of music or basically any kind of creative act. I've just recently resolved to write a novel, so I've started that whole process, mainly just gathering notes and ideas together right now. What else am I doing with my life? I enjoy learning about our universe and how things work in it. I'd like to have as thorough a knowledge as possible of reality before I die.

I guess people also want to know what kind of job people have when they ask questions like this. So ah ... I work at a book store right now, so that's how some of my time is spent. I don't really consider it "what I'm doing with my life" because I certainly don't want to make a career out of it.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Briefly --

Books: Anything by Richard Dawkins, Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Carl Sagan, Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Grant Morrison, etc., Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms - Fumiyo Kono, The Man Who Laughs - Victor Hugo, Red Dragon - Thomas Harris, The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, A Light In The Attic - Shel Silverstein, books about science, The Surrealist Manifesto(s), lots of comics (I'm currently digging Crossing Midnight and Army@Love), etc.

Movies: Here's a random sampling -- V For Vendetta, Mulholland Drive, Pan's Labyrinth, Barefoot Gen 1 & 2, Suicide Club, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Stardust, Jurassic Park, My Neighbor Totoro, all the Star Trek movies except for Nemesis, Clue, The Matador, the Back to the Future movies, Bonnie and Clyde, Watching The Detectives, Ghostbuster I and II, Dick Tracy, Train Man, The Thomas Crown Affair, Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Sophie Scholl: The Final Days, The Prestige, The Golden Compass, Children of Men, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Chocolat, What's New Pussycat?, In The Mood For Love, Sweeney Todd, Enchanted, Contact, Secret Window, Shoot 'Em Up, Primer, GoldenEye, Goldfinger, From Russia With Love, other Bond movies, Rear Window, The Sting, Wristcutters, Curse of the Golden Flower, The Medicine Show, Letters From Iwo Jima, Sin City, Terminator 1 and 2, Cloverfield, Dracula, Help!, The Sting, Rebecca, The Princess Bride, Harvey, Silent Hill, Wall*E, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Shining, Groundhog Day, some of the Spider-man and X-Men movies, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, The Land Before Time, etc., etc., etc.

Music: Another random sampling, starting with a few of the obvious -- The Beatles, John Lennon, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Joanna Newsom, The White Stripes, The Velvet Underground, Young Marble Giants, The Stooges, Rilo Kiley, Crass, Bat For Lashes, Elvis Perkins, The Raincoats, The Doors, Sonic Youth, The Voidoids, OutKast, Serge Gainsbourg, Black Sabbath, Devendra Banhart, Rasputina, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Fiona Apple, Mudhoney, Regina Spektor, Kraftwerk, Tom Waits, John Cage, Beck, Leadbelly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Nada Surf, Foo Fighters, Nellie McKay, Madvillain, Louis Armstrong, Scratch Acid, Rob Zombie, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Brownie McGhee, Vic Chesnutt, Neutral Milk Hotel, Theoretical Girls, Bob Dylan, Feist, Nina Simone, Peaches, Daniel Johnston, The Streets, Vashti Bunyan, My Brightest Diamond, The Pierces, Tegan and Sara, Public Enemy, Espers, Pulp, Bing Crosby, Bach, The Ditty Bops, The Go! Team, New Buffalo, MGMT, Tay Zonday, Genki Rockets, and approximately 236 million others.

Food: That's interesting; I've never really thought about making a list of my favorite foods. I don't think I could, though I do love food.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

music, stories, movies, science, anarchism, love, life, etc.

And things that other people tend to think are bizarre.

You should message me if

you have a desire to communicate or connect with someone in some capacity or another. Maybe we won't hit it off, but who cares? Reaching out to people seems like it has to be done at some point, right?
