I am iridescent, multi-faceted, and conflicted.
My Self-Summary
There's really not much to tell. Having been spawned from a puddle
of primordial goo through an act of sheer willpower sometime back
in the early 80s, I have resided in Canada for the past twenty-odd
years slowly attempting to educate myself and gather resources for
the day that I may emerge from the sewers and seize power from the
bipedal primates inhabiting the overworld.
[Yes. That was the best I could come up with on short
notice.]
Alright, all delusions of grandeur aside, I'm generally a pretty
simple human being. Expect for those occasional times when I
spontaneously become incredibly complex for absolutely no rational
reason whatsoever.
What I’m doing with my life
The same thing I do every karmic iteration: Try to take over the
world.
Surprisingly little these days; stumbled a seven-year trek through
the hallowed halls of the ivory tower intellectuals. Which was
educational and informative and fun and all that jazz, but I'd like
to see the world now.
So when I'm not beaming streams of information and media into my
cerebral cortex, I'm usually at the pool vainly attempting to whip
myself into a physical state conducive to backbacking 'round the
planet.
In short, the same thing I've been doing my whole life: Try to find
my place in the world and be happy.
I’m really good at
[This space intentionally left blank]
The first things people usually notice about me
My loyal legion of biomechanically engineered minions. Next
question.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I don't read much fiction, save for a healthy supply of
HP Lovecraft,
August
Derleth and their little circle of writers. My shelves are
typically stocked with more tomes on world
mythology and ancient/modern
history than you can shake
a stick at. Add to that a healthy sprinkling of scientific texts, a
jot of
Shakespeare, a pinch of
Homer, and a dash of
Arabian
Nights. And, since I'm working on leaning some new languages,
there's an entire half-shelf dedicated to pocket phrasebooks.
As far as television goes, I'd be a damn liar if I didn't admit my
love for
Star Trek: The Next
Generation. Other favorites include the early seasons of
The X-Files,
The Outer
Limits,
Quantum Leap,
The Pretender,
MacGyver and
Due South.
Top comedies include
Fraiser,
The Colbert Report,
The Daily Show,
and
3rd
Rock from the Sun.
Various others include
Mythbusters and
Penn and Teller's
Bullshit!
Favorite movies include, but are certainly not limited to:
Star Wars,
Indiana
Jones,
Alien/Aliens, and this list could
conceivably carry on for a very, *very* long time.
Music is life. I'll listen to damn near anything once. I may not
listen to it again after that, but I'll at least listen to it once.
From funk to metal to electronica to trip-hop, there aren't many
genres that I don't have a piece of. Anything from
Arch Enemy to
Chemical Brothers to
Grandmaster
Flash and
Zombie Girl and everything in
between.
Food? I'm the human equivalent of a raccoon. I'll eat damn near
anything.
I always enjoy trying new foods, even if I may conclude that I
never wish to put that particular food item in my mouth ever again.
At least I know for next time.
The six things I could never do without
Oxygen, Hydrogen, Carbon, Nitrogen, Calcium and Phosphorous.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe, and anything FOR SCIENCE.
I'm also big on contemplating politics, religion, culture and
mythologies; anything with a decidedly anthropological bend.
I also tend to contemplate and dissect social issues, feminism,
civil rights, racial and gender inequity and that whole Pandora's
Box of social problems.
When I'm not waxing philosophical or scientific, I'm usually trying
to figure out what the fuck to do with my life.
Also, women. Naked women. With red hair. And freckles.... I'm
sorry, what were we talking about, again?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I like cheese doodles.
You should message me if
You shouldn't. Not now. Not ever.
