Because it seems popular, even though the MBTI is full of BS, I will tell you I am an INxJ.
I enjoy: a good cup of coffee; book reading and collecting; playing tabletop RPGs; philosophizing about LARP, video games, and roleplaying; and browsing the Internet. By "Internet" I mean Reddit, Youtube, and online academic journals. I am also a fan of the Facebook.
Languages, to me, are fascinating. I'm currently working my way through Medieval Latin (thank God there's no Rosetta Stone for it!), and am also studying Attic Greek and Aramaic, though I've touched on at some point some dozen or so other tongues. Language learning for me comes naturally, and I enjoy thinking about the historical aspects of languages, how they've influenced society, philosophy, and religion, and how they've changed over time in general. Jacob Grimm is my homeboy, and I have mad respect for John McWhorter.
I can be silly a lot, and am a bit on the excitable side. I think it's important to be responsible and serious when it matters, but also be able to let loose and be funny and act crazy often. It's important to have fun in life, but to buckle down and get shit done when you need to. So if you don't mind me acting goofy or, for example, doing a little jig when I let go of the gas pump handle on the dollar amount I was aiming for, we're square.
I'm pretty heart-on-my-sleeve most of the time, and I'd like to be with someone that is okay with that and discussing and expressing their feelings openly. Honesty and communication are also big things with me, so if you're not looking for those things, I'm sorry. You can credit me with more than a "dash" of loyalty, as well. I'm not up for wishy-washy semi-relationships, hookups, or casual anything, and I stick by the sides of the people I care about/am with.
I believe the best relationships come from strong friendships, and that partners should be, above being attracted to one another mentally, emotionally, and physically, really good friends.
I believe you should never stop learning, reading, or growing intellectually. I love studying and doing research, I read textbooks for fun, and I manage to watch at least one TEDTalk a day (seriously, it's part of my morning routine!)
I find the most eclectic lot of things funny. My sense of humor ranges from witty and dark to light and silly; I'm generally all over the place with my funny side.
I really enjoy cold weather (especially when it's muggy/cloudy as well) and love the rain.
I'm an atheist. No, I don't eat babies. And neither am I an "Asshole Atheist" as seems to be the popular perception nowadays. I'm always up to discuss the philosophy of science and religion, so if that's something you want to talk about, go ahead and message me!
My car radio is set to NPR more often than not. If that makes me boring, so be it!
