My self-summary
I try to enjoy life. I enjoy the shit out of it. It's important not to take things too seriously. People tend to miss the experience if they're too focused on the goal. I live for the journey. I believe that people can do ANYTHING if they just get out there and do it. I try to be well-rounded and attempt new things, even if I know I'm no good at them initially. I believe in "practice makes perfect." I enjoy discovering new things, but new experiences are best if they're shared.

I dabble in politics, war, religion, and morality. All these things will hurt your head, but they're real. Little things make me happy. I don't like surprises, unless I'm totally oblivious. I can say the alphabet faster in reverse. I obsess over outer space. I write with my left and throw with my right. I have never had a cavity.

As a general rule, I try to have as much fun as I can, all of the time. As a realist, I think it helps to have a sense of humor. I take the good and the bad. It's all good.
What I’m doing with my life
I do trauma research at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. I chose a career in science because it's challenging. I'm not afraid to ask the tough questions, and I'm always searching for answers. I want to know everything.

I'm a scientist at heart, but I try to be practical. I know how to clone genetic material, but I can also rebuild your bathroom. I've worked the graveyard shift in a warehouse, dropped hammers for a contractor, worked all angles of a restaurant, and busted knuckles as a mechanic. I can do manual labor, I just prefer the mental labor.

I have an artsy side that needs to "create." I've finished three albums with two different bands, and will occasionally throw together some sad songs of my own sometimes.. I can't help it, I like to write in minor! There's a half-written novel called "Sunspots" kicking around some shared drive with my name on it, sans deadline.. it's a beautiful thing.

I'm fairly recently a winemaker. The process is actually quite complicated. It's cooking, it's chemistry, it's biology, it's art. It's fucking cool.

I mess around with photography from time to time. It's something I'd like to get better at. I haven't quite yet found my niche, but I do enjoy it.
I’m really good at
I'm a filthy drummer.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
When I space out, I'm most typically thinking about science and nature, the physical laws of the Cosmos, human behavior, world politics, global terrorism, religious extremism, and/or war... deeeep shit. However, I could also be wondering what Phillip Seymour Hoffman's best role is... or which tune Phish will play as an opener 2nd-set in Ohio... or whether I should use the word "unorganized" or "disorganized" in conversation. I spend as much time thinking about the pieces as I do the puzzle.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't sleep in a car when someone else is driving, for fear that if we crash and burn, I'll be robbed of my final moment of zen.
