I'm a public defender in Baton Rouge. I'm thirty, have things
together, and out of the drama filled part of life. I've been told
I have a really funny dry sense of humor. I could keep going on
here with adjectives that describe me, but otherwise this is going
to sound like another cliche' personality profile on here. What
sets me apart?
I'm a big time night owl. Not the club type, more of the just get
really energized at night type. I find reality tv a total turnoff,
it's basically blowing little bitty issues out of proportion. If
you can quote Parks and Recreation or Community, you've got me
I'm big into exercising right now. After law school I was, well, a
frump. You see, sitting at a library desk all day, reading very
technical writing and eating nothing but junk food has that effect.
For the past year, I've been going to the gym or running almost
every day and I really like trying to push myself to get better.
I'm so nerdy with it too, I have charts...
I have a one year old hound/german shepherd mix. He has some pretty
amazing tennis ball skills, sometimes doing ninja like moves in the
air, figuring out intricate bounce moves off of walls and floors to
figure out exactly where to catch the thing. Other times he seems
completely perplexed with the simple throw. Go figure. He is the
first dog I've had that has been as happy seeing me wake up in the
morning as he is seeing me walk in the front door.
If you have any questions, just go ahead and ask and I'll be happy
to answer them!
What I’m doing with my life
I practice law and generally try to scratch an idealistic itch.
I’m really good at
- Taking things apart that aren't meant to be taken apart for
- Random and nearly useless trivia.
- keeping a cool head
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm rather quiet when I first meet someone but I warm up pretty
quickly. I tend to be pretty sarcastic and witty, or so I've been
told. I have also been told that my eyes are pretty, but it was by
a cop who had pulled me over for an expired tag. A little
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
- I will read just about anything, and as long as it's decent
writing, I'll have a good time. I do focus mostly on southern
fiction and nonfiction. Mainstream... I really liked The Time
Traveler's Wife and The Lovely Bones. On the lighter side I like
David Sedaris and Augusten Burroughs. Otherwise I end up reading
philosophy and how to's. If a biography is good, I'll like
- I have a secret love of summer blockbusters. There's something
about watching a completely cheesy action film just to see how bad
it is, or being pleasantly surprised when it's actually really
good. I'm also into indie movies as long as they don't go overboard
into being hipster flicks.
- The majority of the time I listen to folksy music to kind of
chill out, but I pretty much listen to anything.
- My three favorite types of food, in no particular order, are
Greek, Indian, and Italian! I probably order from India's and
Albasha once a week.
The six things I could never do without
Books, music, a vehicle, my dogs, food and water.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A vast assortment of normal thoughts, and sometimes a vast
assortment of odd thoughts. You know, like a normal person.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out eating and socializing with friends, watching a movie, driving
around, or --as nerdy as it may be-- reading. Sometimes just
looking for something to do can end up being a pretty good night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I fall asleep almost every night listening to an episode of This
American Life on my iPad.
You should message me if
If you're a dog person, if you'd like to just chat/talk, or perhaps
do something interesting (or make something interesting happen in
Baton Rouge). Also if you like going on spur of the moment
