My Notes edit
My self-summary
I also hope you can tell a sarcastic joke when you see it. Hint, hint.
About Me:
I'm an intelligent, witty, honest, nice guy who will talk about almost anything, regardless of how much or little I know about it. I can go from intellectual conversation about philosophy to random, relatively senseless ramblings and word play at the drop of a hat and tend to find "intelligent conversations about nothing" ideal.
I'm sarcastic, sardonic, facetious, and can find humor or a silver lining in anything. I also tend to view most (if not all) experiences as some kind of lesson, regardless of how positive or negative the experience's impact is.
I'm easy-going, open-minded, empathetic, loyal, and a dedicated friend. Once you've got me, it's unconditional.
I love deeply and genuinely. I develop strong bonds with friends and lovers alike and don't hesitate to remind someone how our bond feels and what it means to me.
I'm a bottomless pit of patience. When I know someone wants or needs something, I'll bend over backwards either to give them the time and/or resources to get it themselves or to help them get it. My mother taught me never to lose hope and I've found that philosophy incredibly helpful in sustaining patience in any situation.
I'm emotional. This means both that I have an aptitude for expressing my emotions (along with a willingness to share them) and that I'm receptive and understanding when emotions are being shared with me. If it helps, I'm a Cancer, as far as Zodiac goes -- and from what I've seen, a very textbook case.
I mock myself and my friends frequently.
I will do just about anything -- including make myself look like a fool -- if it will raise a smile or get a laugh. I'm difficult to offend and find that even when laughing at me, a laugh is still a laugh and that's what counts.
My humor can sometimes involve euphemisms and innuendo (and I can turn almost anything into an insult or make it sound dirty)--though I try to limit the level of crudity to suit the audience and/or situation.
My hobbies involve computers, video games, and music--sometimes in combination--though I can enjoy (and am willing to do) pretty much anything in good company.
I'm passionate, individual, and can either be very charismatic or very reserved and quiet depending on my comfort level.
I'm very non-judgemental and love getting to know people's uniquenesses. I'm a lover of different laughs, opinions, expressions, styles, dreams, hobbies...whatever makes someone who he or she is. I would collect such things if I could.
I'm "real". That means that not only do I exist outside of someone's (or perhaps many people's) imagination(s), but that I have trouble lying or expressing opinions I don't hold. I used to say that I don't know how to be fake; I've discovered that I do, I'm just really bad at it.
I'm left-handed.
I take pleasure in life's little moments: a fleeting glimpse of a cloudy sunset while driving down the interstate; feeling, just for a second, very connected with someone even after (or possibly because) they've said something completely ridiculous; seeing that magic in someone's smile where you just can't help but smile back; the moment you hear a song you hate and suddenly hear how great it is; though meaningless in the grand scheme of things, they are the moments that sustain my sanity and inner peace.
I have enough religion/spirituality in me (from a variety of different theologies) to satisfy my own curiosity and sense of purpose, but ultimately consider myself agnostic and open to anyone's beliefs--as long as agreement with said beliefs is not mandatory not to be "wrong."
I tend to be pretty close to what some would classify as a Grammar or Spelling Nazi. I don't criticize or talk down to people for it, but I certainly appreciate the proper spellings of words greater than eight letters in length (not to mention "you", "are", and "their") as well as the finer points of commas, semicolons, and prepositions.
I'm a musician. My style is fairly unique and I try not to classify it in any particular genre. My music doesn't have lyrics, but it is my voice.
Why I'm Here: I'm primarily seeking what the site would call "Activity Partners" to ease my cabin fever. I also value friendships very highly, however, so my secondary purpose is simply to connect with some new people (local or otherwise) and see what kind(s) of bonds blossom. Finally, I'm here to be a true, loyal friend to those who want or need it. Regardless of the nature of whatever develops, I'd like something long-term -- that could mean a lasting friendship, a long-term love, or whatever else develops.
My "Ideal Match": Instant attraction (of whatever sort) will come from a woman who is kind, intelligent, sarcastic, able to laugh at herself (and will be equally insulting to me), is passionate, loves a wide variety of music, and has an open mind in general. I seek someone who can hold an intelligent conversation, someone with "depth", with her own opinions, her own style...the right combinations of those elements will attract me immediately and intensely. Of course, there also has to be some kind of deeper connection, a feeling that we're "on the same wavelength" (even if we don't agree on everything, we accept each other's differences), and just a general comfort and trust between us.
I'm also on Myspace if my profile did turn out to be too personality-less to you.

* making people -not- feel like complete morons when talking to them

* giving honest compliments
* making lists
* talking about myself
* being lazy
* being awesome
* levity
* surrounding things in brackets
* making lists
* not knowing when to stop
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
(A) My "Big Four": Castlevania, Zelda, Metroid, Super Mario. Others: Old Final Fantasy (1-6), Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat 1-3, Mega Man, Contra, Donkey Kong Country trilogy, Sonic the Hedgehog, Raiden, Rez, lots more.
(B) My "Big Four": Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, The Wizard of Oz, Back to the Future trilogy, and Beetlejuice. Others: UHF, The Beatles movies (yes, I'm a geek), Pirates of the Caribbean, lots of other things I'll likely remember later.
(C) My "Big Four" bands: Metallica (1991 or before, thanks), Nine Inch Nails, "Weird Al" Yankovic, The Beatles. My "Big Four" composers: Yasunori Mitsuda, Michiru Yamane, Yuzo Koshiro, Nobuo Uematsu. Others: Nirvana, Koji Kondo, Konami Kukeiha Club, Mannheim Steamroller, The Cure, The Beach Boys, Go Sato, Aerosmith, Green Day, Dave Wise, Jun Senoue, Crush 40, Cree Summer, Depeche Mode, Kamelot, Nightwish, Beethoven, Mozart, Beyoncè, Dragonforce, Jillian Goldin, lots more. Or these.
(D) I honestly can't answer this question too well anymore. I haven't had a "real meal" in a long time, and when shopping, I tend not to be able to think of what I want. Pretty much, as long as it's not most Chinese food (at least around here) or seafood, I'll give it a shot. A few favorites: garlic bread, stuffing, steak, or just about anything Italian.
The six things I could never do without
Aside from that: passion, humor, hope, a good friend or two, and hugs.
