I am easygoing, spontaneous, and optimistic.

My Self-Summary

Decided it was time to get rid of my bulleted self-summary.

I really enjoy meeting new people, and I think that friendship is a good base for a relationship (none of that "friends can't date" baloney). So, I like to take things slow, but maybe that's just because I haven't found my other half yet? We'll see.

I take my coffee black, generally--though, lately, I've been sneaking a bit of sugar in every now and then. I love airplane coffee and I don't know why.

I grew up in a small, Midwestern town, but I really enjoy DC. Public transportation is great, especially since I don't have a car. I do periodically get fleetingly homesick, but for now, I'm very happy here.

What I’m doing with my life

Interning in the heart of it all. I work to keep our water clean...or try to, at least.

Trying to figure out if I want to go back to school or not. Lots of options to weigh.

I’m really good at

Remembering to write thank-you notes, especially to my Grandma.

Ramming my knee on my desk at work.

I also make a mean mojito, though my skills are probably getting a bit rusty.

The first things people usually notice about me

Probably my height, especially if I'm in heels.

I tend to smile at everyone and look people in the eye when I'm speaking to them, which I assume people notice.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

David Sedaris' books always get me laughing, particularly "Me Talk Pretty One Day." I enjoy reading on the bus. The last book was "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," and before that, it was "When You Are Engulfed in Flames," another book by David Sedaris.

As for music, I'm currently on a Rolling Stones kick, but I'm no expert. My new favorite bands are Noah and the Whale and Cloud Cult. I'll listen to any type of music live, as long as people are actually singing, and not screaming. I find it to be fairly intimate to watching someone perform.

I'm not really that interested in food, though I can appreciate a good meal. My studio has the smallest galley kitchen ever, so I blame my non-interest on that. I eat a lot of spinach, hummus, and apples, and I have a weak spot for jelly beans. I like pepper jack cheese and plain yellow mustard. Wow, this is the most boring food section ever, but it is the truth.

The six things I could never do without

Six things I wouldn't want to live without, but probably could: tissues, sunscreen, flip-flops, a deck of cards, a pen, and paper.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Numbers, colors, people's habits, what I believe, whether I should actually get out of bed when the fire alarm goes off.

On a typical Friday night I am

Decompressing, somehow.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

At the risk of exposing my neuroses, I can't figure out whether I should capitalize the first letter of my answers in each of these boxes or not. It seems like my answer should be a continuation of the lead-in, but I'm just not sure.

You should message me if

-You think we might get along.
-You want a new girl bud.
-Especially (but not only) if you enjoy beer.
-If you want to hear stories about my crazy neighbor. He's pretty wacky.
