Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot, actually I read for a living, so I have a hard time narrowing down my favorite books. A handful off the top of my head (or that I can see from where I am sitting...)- Flann O'Brien's The Third Policeman, Margaret Atwood's Alias Grace, Richard Hugo's Collected Works, most of David Foster Wallace's nonfiction, Nick Harkaway.
I love most movies, although I gravitate towards comedies and scifi: including but not limited to, Children of Men, Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog, Fierce Creatures, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Zoolander, you get the idea.
My taste in music is somewhat mercurial so anything listed today may be modified depending on the moment but some general standards - Dar Williams, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Sia, Pearl Jam, Tori Amos, Muse, The Frames, Rolling Stones.
The six things I could never do without
Books, mountains (seriously, I have tried this, impossible), travel, coffee, internet, and my really banged up phone.
