My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've been in SF for a year, but I traveled too much for work, and I think it's time to finally settle in and put some roots down in my new hometown. I'm hoping to meet a few new interesting partners in crime, or at least partners in conversation. Dates are great if the vibe is right, but I'm also into making friends with interesting, kind, quirky guys.

I've got eclectic interests and I love a good adventure. I'm into most things outside, mixed in with a good dose of movies, live music, and long lazy dinners. Witty, smart conversation turns my head. I'm a total word geek, and I love good writing (books, OK Cupid profiles, vanity plates, wherever!). I definitely love exploring my new hometown--whether that's the restaurants, the music, the neighborhoods, the parks, the hangout spots, the street fairs, the cultural highlights, or the cultural lowlights. I like friendly people and try not to take myself too seriously. I love to laugh. Usually at myself. Sometimes at you.

I think this part is too long. I'm not so great at brevity.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
What are you, my mother?! I'm doing this now, and that later.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Mystery. :)
And it's rude to brag.

This could take days. But...

Books: I'm a major book geek. Random good things: Cloud Atlas (the book), Bossypants, Gone Girl, Pride & Prejudice, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, The Bone People, Ursula Under, anything by Roberton Davies, Mark Helprin....that's a start.

Movies: Shawshank, Amelie, The Princess Bride, Nicholas Nickleby, Serenity, Blue, Baraka, The Shipping News, Rear Window, and almost anything about Clueless Legally Blonde Drop Dead Gorgeous Mean Girls who Bring It On.

Shows: Firefly, Happy Endings (I miss you!), Copper, Game of Thrones, Archer, 30 Rock, Futurama, Downton Abbey, The Good Wife, House of Cards, and things I'm embarrassed to admit publicly before my second drink.

Music: Ella, Ok Go, Noah & the Whale, Jose Gonzalez, Imogen Heap, Robyn, Sia, Arcade Fire, David Guetta, Death Cab, CSN, Four Tet, Fischerspooner, Sibelius, Glenn Gould, Julie London, Snow Patrol, Ratatat. Anything live.

Food: Mexican! Spanish! Italian! Foreign Cinema, Squat & Gobble, Velvet Cantina, Locanda, Farina, Flour + Water, Central Kitchen, La Mar, and all the places I haven't been yet (I'm talking to you, Tacolicious!).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Delicious food, and the conversation that goes along with it.
2. Pandora.
3. New adventures.
4. IMDB.
5. Sunny beaches.
6. My awesome, hilarious, supportive little sister (she and my niece are in one or two of my pics)...she manages to keep me grounded, smiling, and sane.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whether anyone has actually read this far.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing over a lazy dinner.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Jeez, buy a guy a drink first!

I'm always eager to meet interesting, energetic, kind (important concept), smart, fun, and funny new people. I'm comfortable in my own slightly aging skin, and I totally respect others from similar--and different--walks of life who are always respectful of others, and who are comfortable in their own individual and collective skins, too.
