My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I find happiness at the tops of mountains and in the depths of a books, and firmly believe that life is both deadly serious and absolutely, absurdly hilarious. Music is often my driving force and my living spaces are usually filled with an eclectic assortment of instruments that most would be hard pressed to name. Sharing my love for music and dance with people who feel the same makes me deliriously happy... I haven't found a picture of me lindy hopping without an utterly stupid smile on my face. I'm insatiably curious and find curiosity to be the most attractive trait in others. Sometimes I'm not sure what I'd do without the internet to answer all of my silly questions, right now.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm studying materials science and engineering at UNR and I absolutely love being back in school and having the freedom to spend so much time learning. The world is changing so quickly around us and I'm stoked to be going into a field where I get to be part of that.

I recently spent an unplanned night out at almost 13,000 feet but most of my climbing trips go a bit smoother. I don't necessarily need to be in a precarious position outdoors to be having fun; I've been on some great hikes this summer too.

When I moved back to Reno last year, there basically was no lindy hop or vintage swing dance to speak of so me and a few other dancers that I've been fortunate to come across are starting a swing dance club at UNR. I can't wait to get everyone here addicted.... Mwahahaha!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Giving a damn, throwing myself into the deep end and (mostly) not caring about looking stupid in front of other people.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People that I've never met seem to think they met me before or I look SOOO familiar. Can't say I have any idea why this is but it happens all the time.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love to read almost anything: fiction, nonfiction, classics, dumb books, snobby books.

I'm very open to most music and if you're really into it I'll probably be stoked about it too. I've had a long standing obsession with Brazilian music and I love swing and jazz from every era. I also enjoy rock of various sorts, electronic music, Latin music, and most everything else.

I'm not really a huge TV person but I've been known to Netflix binge on occasion.

I love most types of Asian cuisines, especially Thai, and anything spicy. I have a high BTU wok burner now and am getting more and more proficient at using it without catching myself and those around me on fire. I love really good pizza, wings, good beer, sushi, BBQ, or pretty much anything that someone puts some passion and time into perfecting. I might admit that I'm kind of a food/beer/coffee snob if you were to twist my arm.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My family. I'm lucky enough to have an awesome one and we have good times.

All the fun and crazy knowledge available to us!

A corollary to that... books and the internet

Penguins... they're just really awesome. I feel better living in a world where penguins exist.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Jeez. Hard question. I'm kind of all over the place. Lately, whatever school stuff I was working on. Projects for over the summer. Practicing saxophone and swing dancing. Whatever random thing comes to mind.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
These days probably in Carson or Sacramento lindy hopping. If not there, maybe hanging with some friends or out on a climbing trip.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a little bit of a snob about things I get into, but hopefully the good kind and not the annoying kind! I just figure if I'm going to put the effort in, it's worth doing right.
