Okay... I grew up in Jersey, went to college in Michigan then back to NYC to study screenwriting. Follow the breadcrumbs out to LA. Moved in with family out here for the requisite six months in the guest house... pool, tennis court... it was fun playing the role of spoiled brat for a bit, but I got this once in a lifetime chance to bond with little cousins who are now like siblings for life. I'm pretty lucky on the family front; I feel like I have enough amazing family for three people. Add a little perspective, and it's not hard to realize that "spoiled" isn't so much mansion and hot tub as it is having amazing people in your life. Not to disparage a hot tub...
I'm a bit of a wanderer, though I've been in LA for just about 10 years now. Jumped from Hollywood to Santa Monica to the Hollywood Hills, then back to the valley, and I just moved back to the beach. I still play piano almost every day - think more Billy Joel/Stevie Wonder/Ben Folds than Chopin. Huge political nerd, my dream job would be a staff writer on the West Wing. I know, it's over, I've moved on, but it's still buried in there, like being a princess or an astronaut. Prince, I meant prince.
What else... I love the Mets, the Jets, and Michigan football, though they break my heart. I have a history of training for crazy races. Two full marathons and a triathlon so far, and I just ran the first half of the San Francisco marathon (highly recommend, something magical about running 'cross the Golden Gate). Back on the wanderlust front, last summer I spent 10 days in Spain. It was the trip of a lifetime (so far), some serious perspective, a cultural/culinary/sangria adventure with a minor international incident. Planning the next trip in my head already. Maybe South America, southeast Asia... we'll see. Definitely heading to New Orleans in April for Jazz Fest!
In short, I love dogs (have a beagle mix), mountains, good mexican food, NPR and long hair on a clever girl. Curious to see where this goes...
