My self-summary
So I haven't updated in forever, so here's an update:

I have come back to Winona after getting out of the Army. I have finished my degree. I am currently employed in Winona, and just moved into an apartment all on my own. Weeeeeee real adulthood!

I'm a giant nerd. I will not even attempt to hide it, or otherwise conceal it. I cannot actually do so, I just exude nerdiness to an amazing extent. I seriously cannot un-nerd a conversation. It is not possible. I just nerd it all up. How nerdy? I know when the guys on Big Bang Theory aren't being all that nerdy. They are nerdlite, pop-culture style nerds. Minor nerdlings. Seriously, not that nerdy.

Politically, I'm definitely left of center. Laws are for the protection of society, and that includes the poor--especially the poor, since they need it far more than the rich. If the rich need to be taxed a bit more heavily to help the poor, so be it. This country has severely skewed incomes. I think health care should be treated as a public good, rather than an industry.

Anything else? Well, if you want to know, ask.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I am working third shift making electronics. I know how to solder to industry standards now, represent!
I’m really good at
Physics. Math. Analyzing rule systems. Annoying certain people. I've been told by several women than I'm good with my hands--especially with leg rubs. But there's more to it than that, and if you want to know, you should get to know me a little better.
The first things people usually notice about me
The beard. That's really hard to hide. Also, apparently, that I play D&D. In Airborne school, I got asked by a Navy guy if I played. I had never seen him before, and I was wearing a uniform. Also, he was standing behind me. I asked how he knew, and his response was that he was in the Navy, and that is a skill you acquire. Since I can't hide that from total strangers, apparently, I may as well be up front about it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Right now, the Dresden Files books. Finished Ghost Stories on release day and it didn't arrive until 6pm, so that should tell you about how fast I read, and how dedicated I am to various things while reading. I'm behind on other stuff, and I'm catching up somewhat right now.

I also really enjoy pretty much everything by Ursula K LeGuinn, especially the Dispossessed. Heinlein is also a favorite of mine. I always am looking for good sci-fi/fantasy.

Gladiator, Star Wars (if I need to tell you which ones, you are possibly too young), Godfather 1 and 2, and some other stuff. Disney movies, Harry Potter. Robert Downey, JR as Ironman.

I feel like I'm becoming an old man, but 95% of what I see in previews looks like poop, so I don't see too many movies in the theater any more.

Arrested Development, The IT Crowd, Fawlty Towers, and a bunch of other stuff.
The six things I could never do without
1) Books
2) Internet
3) My computer
4) Friends
5) Dogs. I love dogs.
6) Movies
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Physics, school, finding ways to delay the inevitable...
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably working overtime. If management knew what they were doing (and I mean, pretty high up management, my supervisor is awesome and knows what's what), I could actually have 2 day weekends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Here? Not gonna happen.
You should message me if
The beard doesn't scare you away.
