My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A dreamer who enjoys literature and obscure pop-culture references. I'm generally perceived as either extremely interesting and funny, or nice-but-weird.

The near future will hopefully see me realize a goal of completing school and becoming a teacher. Ultimately (and obviously unrealistically), I'd like to succeed where Alexander the Great failed and conquer the known world.

My favorite topics of interest include Asian history, British science fiction, and surrealist cinema. However, this does not preclude me from an innate compulsion to know at least a little about every subject in the universe.

I am efficient, eclectic, and enigmatic
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm (slowly) working towards a degree in history, and I currently solve problems and place orders to pay the bills. Ultimately, I'd like to become a college professor, write books about ancient military tactics, and possibly serve as a talking a head on a History Channel show that is somewhat akin to I Love The [insert decade]'s.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
[serious] Languages, theories, scholarly pursuits.

[fun] Being a repository for worthless trivia, dishing out nicknames, coming up with random comebacks, inspiring impromptu sing-a-longs.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I seem all intense and serious in my expression and demeanor...and then they actually get to know me.

b) Blade Runner, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Mulholland Drive, Repo Man, The Seventh Seal, Hot Fuzz, Fargo, any Samurai movie featuring Toshiro Mifune. And although it wasn't mentioned, my favorite television programs include Doctor Who, Twin Peaks, Arrested Development, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

c) David Bowie, New Order, Franz Ferdinand, Iron Maiden, Depeche Mode, Megadeth, Kraftwerk, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Cake, Ronnie James Dio, Alice Cooper, Rush, Blur, Ben Folds Five, and a slew of others. Basically, a strange hybrid of new wave, metal, bossa nova/jazz, and other random genres.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
freewill, music, literature, laughter, irony, sleep.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
[existence] The nature of the universe, the possibility of time-travel and/or teleportation, international affairs.

[history] the Sengouku Jidai period of Japan, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Alexander the Great.

[random/geek] sports, video games, comic books
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Escaping small-town suburbia and finding some worthwhile distraction from the absurdity of existence, most often at a concert or at the movies.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Without regular maintenance, I would be able to grow a unibrow. Is that not awesome?
