Upon seeing how the mobile app works, I'll place a brief bit here. Some people call me Allen, though it's actually my middle name. I am currently 27 winters, 5'5" tall, and made Emporia, Kansas all the more awesome while living there. I drink mead, whiskey and beer on occasion, and smoke a pipe like a gentleman.
I am a geek. Not only in that I like watching Star Wars and enjoy it; I am the Master Chief (Halo) of Emporia. I go out at night to football fields and lightsaber fight. I dress frequently like it's a Renaissance Festival when the weather allows for it, I can quote most of the Lord of the Rings with moderate accuracy, and I play several videogames.
I am also an artist. I mainly do engravings, drawings, paintings and costume/prop design, but I have also done metal working, sculpture, and jewelry making. I display my artwork proudly, and enjoy making things for my friends and loved ones.
Video games are my primary method of honing deadly skills of digital combat and bartering with tight-fisted merchants. I seek a gamer to compliment this, though someone who would be happy simply watching would also be highly desirable. However, for the interested gamers, I have a diverse interest in genres and titles. I play Halo, Assassin’s Creed, Rock Band, Left 4 Dead, Fable, Mass Effect and the Elder Scrolls series. I am mostly a Halo fan, and have gone to the release of every Halo game since 3 in costume. While it’s not a video game, I also enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons.
I also enjoy watching movies and TV shows that I have on DVD. I enjoy nothing more than watching movies on a lazy afternoon. I speak in quotations, and will quote movies randomly and somewhat frequently. Even when alone.
Renaissance Fairs are my home away from home, and I go to them as much as possible. I may also become more active within my local SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) which to be clear is *not* LARPing. LARPing is for children pretending to be elves and wizards and dressing the part. The SCA is about men and women re-creating and living life during the Middle Ages, as well as emphasizing skills that are not reliant on technology and modern convenience.
To give greater detail on the "Religion: Other and somewhat serious about it," I am a Pagan (I identify as a Nordic Rodnover Shaman,) and while my faith is a very big part of who I am, what I do and how I see the world, I never push it on others. I openly answer respectful questions, but I am strongly against badgering someone to convert. However, after having encountered far too much conflict, I would strongly prefer either a Pagan or someone who is a soft Agnostic or Atheist. (Soft meaning able to tolerate other religions or ideologies while not sharing them.)
