Some of my favorite pastimes are reading historical fiction, flying kites, just being outside and watching the full moon setting into Lake Erie. Socially I tend to do better with small groups of people rather than large crowds and shy away from loud, boisterous events like your typical concerts.
Photography is one passion of mine. I love "capturing moments in time" as I like to refer to it. People and weather are my favorite subjects.
I love animals. But I’m not a big fan of domestic cats, although there can be exceptions. I’m a dog person at heart. All animals, especially pets, keep me humble about mankind's place in the world. I have an enduring respect for them all, even the lowly mosquito.
I doubt I’ll ever have any piercings or tatoos. Or get anywhere near a motorcycle again; those days are LONG gone.
What else.... I prefer the Farmers' Market to the grocery store any day. I like traveling off the beaten path, not on a tourbus or staying at Holiday Inn. I like to take my time to soak it all in, never being in a hurry. I have no patience for mendacity; I'm a straight-shooter, and I expect the same of you.
There's something else you should know. Right now I'm having mobility problems. When I go out I use a scooter. And speaking of being out, when I’m outdoors, I’m happy, regardless of the weather. Whether it’s feeling the sun warm my face, getting soaked to the bone during a summer shower or a blistery winter wind reddening my nose and cheeks; it’s all good. Someone has said that there’s no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. That’s my motto, too.
I’d like to meet a woman with a background similar to mine, who shares my morals and values, who’d be content with a quiet lifestyle and embraces Mother Nature as I do. She wears her warm heart on her sleeve. She also understands the enormous difference between someone "making" you happy and "being" happy with someone.
