Born and raised in the southern San Joaquin Valley, the land of farms and oilfields. I am a retired mechanic/machinist/welder/toolmaker, financially secure and own a house w/yard, small vegetable garden, & shop. In youth, worked agriculture and cattle so have a strong work ethic. (Sometimes you gotta' get behind a mule in the mornin' and plow). A veteran (U.S. Marines). A recovering single father. I enjoy motorcycle touring/camping, attending vintage American motorcycle events and RVing. Also enjoy The Renaissance Faires, High Sierra Music Festivals, and Little Feat concerts.
Clean, organized, and a GENTLEMAN with manners, etiquette, & propriety. After the war (didn't mind gettin' shot at, just the thought of gettin' hit that bothered me), was a saddle tramp, pirate, bootlegger. and rounder, lucky to be alive. I have rode a crooked road. Possess archaic skills. Am now a sedate, old, fat man :-). Still young for my age. An experienced traveler. Enjoy yard sailing. "Far Side" sense of humour.
Much like the Cat, very aware with the same empathy. Cats have proven to be the best friends (because I can open a can, keep the potty box fresh and the water station clean and full).
My friends are all skilled craftsmen/artisans. Entrepreneurs, employed, or retired. We are like a tribe of scattered gypsies who gather variously on occasion. We enjoy meeting around a fire at camp to eat, drink, and be merry, sing and tell true lies. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
We start out life liking everything. It's finding what we don't like that's the hard part. We may all be fools.
A relic from the past, adapting to the present.
I enjoy history and often visit the site "eyewitnesstohistory.com". I also enjoy philosophy, physics, and cosmology.
I have come to realize that some of these adds are bogus after a few messages and the internet is the new "high seas" so pirates take notice: I think with the head on my shoulders, not the one between my legs! Seek booty elsewhere.
Never let the barmaid see your hand, she might be the friend of a gamblin' man.
I have come with the dust, and gone with the wind. I need a miracle every day. I have "walked through the halls of Karma to shake hands with both the Devil and God".
I am a road man, very self reliant. I don't believe in heaven, but do believe in ghosts. My heroes have always been cowboys. I am early to bed, early to rise, hand wash my dishes, and mop my kitchen/bathroom floors on my hands and knees. Try to keep my phasers set on "stun".Just roll me up and smoke me when I die. Reckon I would give this singles site a shot because "To succeed in life, you need two things: ignorance and confidence."...Mark Twain
What I’m doing with my life
Now that I have recently retired, try to catch up on things I could not do while running hard to raise kids and make a living. Not "just tryen' to get laid", but seeking adventurous, mature LADY who knows manners, etiquette, & propriety for quality companionship. Not "slippin' into darkness". Skating away on the thin ice of a new day. Spent youth thinking the road goes on forever and the party never ends but now runnin' out of road, and runnin' out of breath. Goin' to hell in a handbasket, but at least I'm enjoyin' the ride
I’m really good at
Toot, toot......Building and riding motorcycles. Have two now, a 1945 Indian military Chief, and a 1936 Indian Chief chopper. These are my art forms (sculptures). Owned since 1964. Have won many trophies.
Have been elected to board of supervisors - VietNam Veterans of Ventura County. Elected to Run Coordinator of A.B.A.T.E., locals #13 & #42. Appointed Field Events chairman for first couple Toys for Tots/Goody's for Grunts in Ventura. Had to give all up to focus on raising kids.
Have studied and practiced Karate and never felt better than then.
My dwelling & shop are clean.
Can write in runes.
Can BBQ in the rain and like to cook in a cast iron dutch oven.
Am an experienced rain rider.
I keep enough water, food, propane, and ammunition on board to last about a month. Resourceful and self-reliant. Resilient. Possess good survival skills.
I possess the knowledge to take rocks from the ground and use fire to create metals that I can form and carve to do my will.
Anyone who is with me me will not go hungry and will have a warm, dry, safe place to sleep.
The first things people usually notice about me
My demeanor and smile. There are three Gypsy rules, mind your
manners, leave no trails, and don't wear out your welcome. You will
not find a cowboy on a psychiatrists couch.

The six things I could never do without
A canteen for water, a machete for firewood and a weapon, and a
poncho for shelter. There are only two handicaps, being blind or
not being able to keep a straight thought. Any thing else can be
overcome with the right attitude. Because of the men who died on
the beach, I can vote.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life is like a game of Chess. We pays our fees and takes our
chances. Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events.
Small minds discuss people. In order to become old and wise, one
has to survive being young and stupid. I know of the Emerald
Tablets of Thoth (as it is above, so it is below). Been on here a
while now. Experienced a few enlightening encounters. One does not
quit because of defeat. One is defeated because they quit.
On a typical Friday night I am
When I am not out on the road, am in my shop listening to KHUM
(radio without the rules) which can be picked up on computer
through streem guys, heart & soul of Humboldt, or gdradio.net,
and having a few beers. It is when I am most creative. Also enjoy
open mic nights at local coffee houses or live theater plays.
Sometimes enjoy lectures by Dr. lawrence Krauss, Dr. Michio Kaku or
Dr. Niel deGrasse Tyson on YouTube.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am not, and refuse to be a VICTIM! I welcome mature debate and
shun emotional argument. You will find I am very tolerant,
respectful, and non abusive. I do not dominate or submit. Everyone
is doomed to die, just hope it is quick and clean, not slow and
You should message me if
... you are curious. If you have not lied about you age. Usually the male makes advances, and the female accepts or rejects. times have evolved though and I welcome all queries. I tend to be direct and to the point so tolerance and a sense of humor may be required. Please note and no offense intended; large women are hard on the brakes and tend to stretch the drive chain on my motorcycle. Message me if you are confident, secure, perceptive, mature, have insight and intuitive enough not to require constant reassurance and are not a damsel in distress....if you are not allergic to Cats, bees, wool, or feathers....if you know who Lucretius was or how to play chess, a big plus....if you know how to hang a roll of toilet paper, flap in, or flap out (and why) ;-D If you have a grasp of the basics and are not looking for someone to spoil you in foreign hotels and restaurants. If you do not need a doggy to feel secure. If you are not the youngest sibling. If you have read my profile and compared our Q&A and tests. Evan a blind one knows when they are walking in the Sun.
