My self-summary
I want to fall in love with someone who surprises me. A sincere and joyful adventurer who is complex and can't be defined in a paragraph. I value people who have chosen to be authentic. We all have insecurities and flaws but the world is richer for our uniqueness and it is so much more fun to be yourself! I believe in doing good work and taking care of yourself and I hope that my partner can also manage that balance. I want to build a home filled with love and joy and am looking for the buddy that wants to do that with me. Can't wait to come home to someone who scoops me up and makes me laugh. Is that you?

I love learning and exploring, giving and sharing, building and creating. My work has been primarily in start-ups or in organizations in transition. I geek out on TED talks and Radiolab while experimenting in the kitchen. I find solace in high alpine meadows and through yoga. I try to remember to feel grateful and to work for the benefit of others. My family, like many immigrants, invested in my education and now I feel both honored to contribute to the education of others.

I was born into a very loving family and have had some incredible adventures. I have lived in Hong Kong, Mexico City and a yurt in southern Colorado. I went to graduate school in Boston and returned to Colorado to help start an art school in southwest Denver. I love hut trips with all the high alpine wind! Last summer I rode the 240 mile San Juan Skyway and would love to take my bike to Europe sometime. In between big adventures I spend my time with close friends and family, dreaming up gardens, cooking new foods and hiking Boulder trails with my pup. My next adventures include a trek in Iceland or Argentina and scuba diving in Honduras...but the one I am most excited about is meeting you!

Here is some stuff I like to do and would love to share with you:
Climbing a tree.
Making a delicious meal.
Backcounty skiing.
Practicing yoga under a great big tree.
Losing track of time.
Enjoying a perfect sliver moons at sunset on my rooftop porch.
A big lazy breakfasts on a porch with good friends and lots of fresh fruit.

Dancing in the rain.
Dancing anywhere.

What I’m doing with my life
After spending a few years traveling and exploring I am experimenting with staying put. I was an art teacher for 10 years and am now the director of education at a university art gallery. I like to read and write and do research and love people who wonder. As often as possible, however, I adjust the dial from cerebral to other important elements of life...including playing in the mountains with my pup and friends! I also always seem to be planning the next international trip and dreaming of living abroad!
I’m really good at
Keeping an eye on the big picture.
Growing plants. I can not wait to have a garden :)
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile. And my tall stature ;)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
If you have not read Cutting for Stone, do! My Travels With Charley. The Power of One is really powerful too. I also enjoy reading journals and books about learning, philosophy and art. Ruth Reichle and Isabel Allende are great.
Once is one of my favorite movies. I don't watch many movies but I appreciate classics in all genres, old and new.
TED Talks, Radiolab, This American Life, Fresh Air, The Daily Show, Colbert
Mackintosh, Calder, Miro, Matisse, Degas, Banksy, Rothko...yum.
Emmylou Harris, Zoe Keating, Stephan Grappelli, Mark Knopfler, Otis Redding, Bob Dylan, Gregory Allen Isakov, Carla Bruni, Kieth Jarrett, John Coltrane, The Swell Season, Leonard Cohen, Iron and Wine and Les Paul, and all kinds of other stuff too!
The six things I could never do without
Snow, sunshine, smart people, art, music, family (including my pup).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where you are and what adventure you are up to :)
All the places I want to explore.
What kind of career choices I am making...and how they fit into my sense of adventure.
How to be innovative and how to teach students so that they become innovators.
My lovely puppy.
When/If I want to move back towards to familiar hills. I lived in Boulder for 8 years and a few on the Western Slope and the pull is pretty strong.
On a typical Friday night I am
Catching my breath, eating well, meeting friends, playing outside or heading somewhere beautiful!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I love building stuff and am always ready for a project...but I am afraid of skill saws :) Irrational, I know, but they seem pretty fierce and awfully loud!

You should message me if
You dig discovering playful, intellectual people who seek adventure and learning opportunities. You enjoy quiet, pensive exploration as much as global, adrenalin filled exploration. You love Colorado but are not bound to its borders. You think this is time well spent http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2013/04/graphic-designer-dad-illustrates-his-kids-lunch-bags-almost-every-day-since-2008/
