Blah blah blah...Birth Control!

If I had the foresight when I was younger Fifteen or so) to do entirely insane amounts of research or sex, sex ed and women's health when I still had a burning desire to be a nurse I would have sat down all the girls in my graduating high school class and spelled out to them why unsafe sex leads to all the things they're currently dealing with. Just found out another former classmate of mine is pregnant with baby #2 (or was it three..) and has just reached the grand old age of 20. Well, most would say she new what she was doing and it was her own damn fault for not being smarter. Can't argue with that logic, one because its true and two because I agree with it. I'm just tired of seeing girls my age and younger having 1, 2 and 3 kids running around like it ain't nothing. ~Sigh~ Worse because I have to deal with the little suckers when they come to summer camp.~Sigh~....Think I might be masochistic.....

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

-- Robert Frost

Poem 2

"First Fig". Don't ask me why its called that, I just don't know.

First Fig

My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends—
It gives a lovely light.

Edna St. Vincent Millay

Poem

I'm gonna start posting poems that move me in some way. To start off with a bang, Invictus.

William Ernest Henley. 1849–1903

7. Invictus

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance 5
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade, 10
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate: 15
I am the captain of my soul.
