My self-summary
Originally from Phoenix, I graduated from Harvey Mudd (a small Engineering/Math school in So. Cal.) in 2008. I moved to Chicago to do quant work at a trading firm and get my master's.

I like to stay active and fit. Basketball is my favorite sport, but am pretty much down for anything. I ran in high school and college and continue to push myself to the limit. I've done a marathon and a 50k with a 50M and ironman on tap for the next two years.

Although I am driven and competitive at work, I'm generally a low-maitenance and laid-back kind of guy. I try to be serious as little as possible although people who don't know me will oftentimes mistake my rampant sarcasm. It's gotten me into trouble on a few occasions but that just makes me find it funnier. If you're into personality profiling, I'm somewhere between INTP/INTJ.

I eat pretty healthily but it's mostly unintentional. I became vegetarian at 13 because I never particularly enjoyed meat. I used to be a chocolate fanatic but found out I was allergic sophomore year of college (possibly the worst day of my life). I don't drink soda because I find the sensation of carbonation to be extremely bizarre. I am, however, not intolerant of meat-eating, chocolate-binging, soda-imbibing folk. Although I may be slightly intolerant of lactose.

What I’m doing with my life
I enjoy working on challenging problems and trying to figure out how things work. At work I research and implement models, analytics and trading strategies. I'm always learning new things and trying to satiate my curiosity. Right now my career and education are most important to me, but I at least like to tell myself I live a relatively balanced life.
I’m really good at
Telling how much time has elapsed without wearing a watch. This skill was slightly more useful 10 years ago before everyone and their 5 year old kids had cell phones.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile (I'm genuinely upbeat and happy), my baby blues and the fact that I like to ask lots of questions.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Freakonomics, Predictably Irrational, Gang Leader for a Day, Devil in the White City, anything Daniel Silva
Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Die Hard, Memento, Fight Club, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Dark Knight, Space Balls
TV: Arrested Development, Archer, The Wire, House, Scrubs, 30 Rock, South Park, Californication, HIMYM
Music: Rap/hip hop (90's), r&b, but I'm open to most things
Food: Pretty much anything, but Chinese, Italian, Sushi, Thai, Greek, Indian and Mexican seem to generally top my list
The six things I could never do without
This is where I'd usually make a smart-ass remark...but to be truthful:
1) Health
2) Family/friends
3) My adidas
4) Green tea
5) Internets (specifically google)
6) Sports (watching/playing)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Things that would likely get me in trouble if I actually said them aloud.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably out, or in, but most likely around. Variety is the spice of life. Things you might find me doing include (but are not limited to): movies, concerts, sporting events, comedy clubs, finding good restaurants, theater, poker night, kicking it with friends, going on a long run, reading, getting some much needed sleep.
