This is kind of like those summaries of game show contestants,
isn't it? "He manages a donut shop and loves to crochet! Come on
down!!" Well, I'm originally from Northern Ohio (Greater Cleveland
and proud of it), but have long since acclimated to California life
(while resisting some of the goofier aspects). For many years I was
an artist for Tower Records - possibly the consistently coolest job
I've ever complained about. I've also been in radio for years and
co-Produce a long-running show about movies
(www.celluloiddreams.net), which affords the opportunity to chat
with the famous and not-so-famous... basically all
film-types.
This is new territory for me. I'm recently out of a very long
relationship with a sweet guy, and truthfully, I'm feeling out
where I am and what I want to do. I think I'd be smart to not think
in terms of a LTR just now, but I sure do enjoy the conversations,
the touching, the holding, the kissing, the snuggling and, of
course, the sex. So for now, I want to have some fun and satisfy
some desires (and maybe explore ones I haven't considered) and see
what happens. I'm open to possibility!

My self-summary
What I'm doing with my life
Looking for work-- though I'm slacking with getting my *actual*
resume together. A lot of the time these days I'm trying to figure
out what I'm all about, what I want & where I want to go.
Indeed, I'm seeing how I can become a better, more loving and
selfless person. It's something I've spent my life working to
overcome (my self-centeredness), and I keep running up against it
every day. But I'm working on it! And so it goes.
I'm really good at
Mmm, drawing, painting, Photoshop, fixing things, public speaking,
doing interviews, taking an objective view (though I can be
vehemently subjective), proofreading (and I'll probably be annoying
about mistakes - but to be fair, I'll criticize my own just as
harshly), silly voices and accents, using my hands (and your
imagination), speaking my mind (and it gets me into trouble...),
making my sweetie feel good, dropping things but catching them
midair, and boiling water (some say I make a mean cup of tea... but
I have burned a few pots!). A lot of people have said I'm a VERY
good hugger. And I'm quite good at jerking guys off - I'm sure
they'd tell you!
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me
Girls have said it's my eyes or my smile (really?), and it seems to
me most comments have been about my "radio" voice or something I'm
wearing... I don't know what guys notice - not my giant package!
(See, because I don't have one. Ho ho.) What a ridiculous question.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Some of these are favorites, some are just things I like:
Anything by Michael Crichton (so easy to read!); Lost Souls and Drawing Blood by Poppy Z. Graphic novels (gotta find my copy of Watchmen! Grr!) but not anything recent. A pretty good amount of Philip K. Dick and Robert Heinlein. Loved Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow. Anthony Horowitz (Gatekeepers and Alex Rider series-- love 'em on audiobook!); Have been lately enjoying stuff by Dean Koontz and have finished Fastforward by Robert Sawyer ('cuz they're making a miniseries of it - we'll see). Currently listening to Coldheart Canyon (Clive Barker) and trying to finish James Baldwin's Another Country (in progress for sooo looong!). And so...
MOVIES: Over the Edge (1979) - perfectly (and realistically) captures suburban teen angst (and it's Matt Dillon's first film); Star Wars movies; Hedwig and the Angry Inch; Videodrome; Blade and Blade II; Total Recall (still great fun); Pretty Boy (Dutch film); Dune; Fargo; Fast Times at Ridgemont High; The Nightmare Before Christmas; Tron; Blade Runner; The Lookout; Austin Powers (all 3); Iron Man; The Dark Knight; Walk Hard; Fido; They Live (jeez-- I'm detecting a theme to this list); Shopgirl; Deja Vu (Henry Jaglom); ALMOST anything Tim Burton. These are just for starters. And damn, Amelie shows up on a crapload of lists!

A thick, medium-rare steak is one of those once-in-a-while luxuries that just hits the spot!
And I make my own lemonade.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
what I want out of life, and what I'm willing to put into it.
Relationships. Also, how to pare down all my STUFF!
On a typical Friday night I am
either going over a friend's house or doing something at home,
either useful (audio production work) or useless (likely watching a
DVD, surfing the Webbbb...). Pretty exciting! And so we come to
another reason for joining OKC: meeting people!
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here
Gee, um... my closest friends sure know the most private things
about me-- mostly because I'm more and more willing to talk about
them (sometimes too much?). I suppose if you really want to know
something specific, you should ask. (And how many are sick of THAT
answer?)
You should message me if
ha ha... you'd like to initiate a conversation (or more), duh.
Cleverness is welcome, occasional big words are appreciated and a
shot or two of smart-assery will set you right in the neighborhood.
I'm new to all this, so feel free to break the ice! (I suppose
that's a typical answer, but so what? I may change it at some
