That's me - quick with the one liner. At work we keep a "funny quotes" list from conversations we overhear at the office, and I'm on the list with "This code is like a Russian weightlifter: a bit hairy, but it gets the job done"
Oh yeah, like nobody else in the bay area, I write software for a living.
The family is back in North Carolina, including a Mom and a Dad, four dachshunds, a brother, a sister, a giant klutzy dog that belongs to my sister, a little nephew who should be walking any day now, an aunt, and two cousins. I miss it sometimes - they don't make skies anywhere else like they do in Carolina. When I visit I enjoy taking a break from the fast-paced life of Silicon Valley. My family home, for all the quirkiness of the residents, is a warm and loving place.
I'm terrible at shutting up (ENTJ). I'm always learning about things that catch my interest and I'm going to talk your ear off about them. If you date me, you're going to learn about genetic engineering, the fall of the Roman republic, the protestant reformation, bitcoin, and whatever else currently catches my fancy.
Despite my interest in future technology and working in the tech industry, I also have an old-fashioned/traditional streak. I love learning about history and thinking about where we came from. I like to have kind, positive, and empathetic people in my life. Life doesn't always go your way, so I value resilience and wisdom.
My ideal date involves getting outdoors or cooking dinner together. You can learn a about a person from the way they handle a kitchen knife
To keep fit, I train jiu jitsu and climb rocks. Sometimes I run the dish.
