My self-summary
Dry humorist. Loyal Friend. Lost wanderer. Intellectual. Jack-of-all-trades. Philanthropic muser and Jaded idealist. Miscreant. Pain in the butt. A freaking super hero.

Everybody likes to say that they're not quite like everyone else, and as a result it's become a pretty lame cliche. I'll spare you the cliche and let you make your own judgment, but in order to do that you'll have to let me buy you a drink!

See what I did there?

I try to make the world a better place, one small deed at a time, and then I following it up with dry humor and snarky comments to deflect any attention it may have attracted.

I'm a bit of a mix - I leave it to others to decide if it's an odd one or not. I'm pretty laid back, but can also be very intense. If something matters enough to me to really feel strongly about it, then I can get pretty into the discussion. But I'm always willing to respect someone else's opinion as well. Unless the other person is just unreasonable, and then I can't make any promises.

I believe in goodwill towards human beings and most other things, ghosts, spirits, chi, entropy, the scientific method, and aliens. I'm not inclined towards God or gods, politicians, blissful ignorance, taking life too seriously, or being so kind that you're a rug and so open-minded that your brain falls out.

My sense of humor is dry like a fine wine, and has a fair bit of dark gallows humor mixed into it. I also don't like really dry wine.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it.

I went back to graduate school two years ago in order to change careers, and I graduated in August with an MBA and a finance concentration. Then I did some consulting work for a few months while I worked on my parents' house and helped out with an illness in the family. Now I'm back in Pittsburgh and working.
I’m really good at
Adjusting to new and strange situations. Really, I just go through life with a zen cool and a knack for not letting awkward situations get to me.

Organizing groups that need organized, staying out of it when there's already leaders, walking away when there's too many chiefs, and recognizing which situation is which.

Cooking! I love cooking. I also love cooking with someone.

I'm also just killer at putting my foot in my mouth.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my long hair. It's totally a cheat in the whole "one of these things is not like the others."

Well, that's changed. It's been my easy answer for two decades, so I suppose now I'll need you to tell me what you noticed first!

Creativity, integrity, humor, friends/family, motion, rest
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Science (physiology, physics, astronomy, the universe), philosophy (our place in said universe, human interactions, religion and spirituality). Other stuff.

Why is it so damn difficult for human beings to treat each other fairly?

What the hell am I going to eat tonight?
On a typical Friday night I am
Maybe out with friends. Maybe reading a book. Maybe playing a video game. It varies, but ideally I'm not at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

You're open-minded but also think things through.

You're a dreamer, idealist, scientist, artist, or (even better) some combination of them.

You enjoy hanging out until the wee hours of the morning, talking about the big questions, laughing, and exploring the crazy crap on the internet.

You want to go on a fuckin' adventure. I like sitting in as much as anyone else, but that's no excuse to grow mold.

You think we'd click.
