My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Dry humorist. Loyal Friend. Wanderer. Intellectual. Jack-of-all-trades. Philanthropic muser and Jaded idealist. Miscreant.

I try to make the world a better place, one small deed at a time, and then I follow it up with dry humor and snarky comments to deflect any attention it may have attracted.

I'm a bit of a mix - I leave it to others to decide if it's an odd one or not. I'm pretty laid back, but can also be very intense. If something matters enough to me to really feel strongly about it, then I can get pretty into the discussion. But I'm always willing to respect someone else's opinion as well. Well, usually.

I'm one of those individuals that is equally comfortable working at a desk, being up to my elbows in my pickup, running a Tough Mudder, giving the introductory speech at the spring formal for my Master's program, letting loose in a mosh pit, doing heavy manual labor, or teaching. I take being a jack of all trades seriously. But seriously, working at a desk sucks.

I believe in goodwill towards human beings and most other things, ghosts, spirits, chi, entropy, the scientific method, and aliens. I'm not inclined towards God or gods, politicians, blissful ignorance, taking life too seriously, or being so kind that you're a rug and so open-minded that your brain falls out.

My sense of humor is dry like a fine wine, and has a fair bit of dark gallows humor mixed into it. I also don't like really dry wine.

ALSO: For fuck's sake, people.
*I wish I could take credit for actually creating that imgur post. Instead, I will merely claim that guy as my hero.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living it.

Scheming. Trying to use my powers for Good.

I dropped by my former graduate school a few weeks ago to say hi to a few people. After I finished relating the tale of my summer, one of the administrators laughed, shook her head, and commented that I needed to write a book about my life one of these days. Looking back, I suppose I do have a few stories worth telling.

When I'm not working, rushing, or throwing in on someone else's project my hobbies involve working on my parents' house, helping out friends, drinking tasty microbrews, cooking, weight lifting, reading, the occasional video game, and various crap I'm forgetting. And just to get it out there now, yes, I'm a gamer geek (though it hasn't been a priority for years).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Adjusting to new and strange situations. Really, I just go through life with a zen cool and a knack for not letting awkward situations get to me.

Organizing groups that need organized, staying out of it when there's already leaders, walking away when there's too many chiefs, and recognizing which situation is which.

Cooking! I love cooking. But I love cooking with someone even more.

I'm also just killer at putting my foot in my mouth.

I also enjoy schmancy coffee, good tea, craft whiskey, and microbrewed beer.

You're open-minded but also think things through.

You're a dreamer, idealist, scientist, artist, or (even better) some combination of them.

You enjoy hanging out with someone until the wee hours of the morning, talking about the big questions, laughing, and exploring the crazy crap on the internet. You'd eventually like to wake up next to that person.

You want to go on a fuckin' adventure. I like sitting in as much as anyone else, but that's no excuse to grow mold.

You think we'd click.
