My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Stupid putting yourself into boxes... Briefly; I consider myself to be an open minded person, looking to try new things and meet new people and see what happens.

what else... I am perhaps more of a geek than I like to admit to my non-geek friends, and at the same time less of a geek that I like to admit to my geeky friends. I don't know where that leaves me...

I spend a good 9 months in South America a few years back. I don't like to use the term 'gap year' because that implies that it was a break from 'real life' and I am trying to bring as much of me experiences into how I am living now. Things like meditating each morning, not trying to plan my future and seizing as many opportunities as possible.

I also recently went on a 10 day silent meditation retreat (Vipassana - for those who know it) which really helped me shift the way I think about the world, in an amazing way. Lots of getting rid of self-criticism, expunging past troubles etc. I'm mega keen to chat about it to anyone who is interested.

p.s If you are interested in talking or finding something out about me or anything along those lines then Just Ask! I dont bite and I will honestly answer 99% of questions put to me
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
As many things as possible! Studying a bit of academia, working the odd job, playing some music/gigging, writing some ideas, writing some plays, failing at writing a novel... Volunteering. Just trying to branch out and see where life takes me.

I've just come back from 4 months volunteering in the Philippines, construction/carpentry based stuff for a disaster relief NGO. Needless to say it was phenomenal.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a fairly good singer, I can dance when it is necessitated, I can hold my end of a conversation, I make really horrendous dad jokes...that should do it
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
the way I talk...?
My rugged good looks?
my sarcasm?

Tough question.

Looking at my bookshelf right now.... I have a collection including Dostoyevsky, Bryson, Kant, Orwell, Woolfe, vonnegut, Mcarthy... etc. Im a medium reader trying to become a big reader.

Movies; I'm pretty open for whatever, but I do have a penchant for artsy type films or mega trash (we have a thing called Mediocre Movie Mondays at my place), Just one of the many dualities in my personality :P

Music; my general rule is styles (not necessarily artists) that came before I was born (thus no metal and the likes).
I love a bit of old folk and funk (Earth wind and fire,Dylan, Joplin, Ben Harper and co.), Right now into Old Crow Medicine show and Cat Sevens/Yusuf Islam, Punch Brothers, the Decembrists and Nickle Creek (since taking up the mandolin).... more to come :P

That being said I've plugged my radio back in and I'm loving the chance to hear some new stuff
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Understanding
Music
Passion for life
Something to put my ideas down on
Stimulating conversation
Travel
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Time and its relation to motion, leading to thoughts of theoretical immortality and the likes.
If emotion is possible from solipsism and wanky shit like that.

Annoying paradigms that we live in and how to break out of them.

Life, self reflecting (perhaps too much), politics, philosophy, places I want to go in the world... I could go on.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Up late writing, or out at a party, or pretending to study, or something random.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I will pretty much admit anything to anyone, most times. You just need to ask :)
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like what you see, you have something interesting to say, you can tell me something I have never heard before...

I'm not too active with my use on this site at the moment, I'm tending to just respond to people messaging me. So if you want to talk to me, or me to talk to you, then initiating contact is the best way :) . I don' t know what it is but there seems to be this thing about guys always instigating the conversation (both online and in the external world). Considering we live in an open and relatively progressive(ish) country I dont see why this is still the case.

That being said, message me if you are interested simple as that :)

p.s I am inclined to want to actually meet you one day, so If you are just looking to chat online that is cool but perhaps we are looking for different things.

p.p.s I am much more likely to respond if you add a 'pop question', which is a random question for me to answer. It can be about anything, I promise to answer honestly :P
