I am energetic and mildly ambitious, with an interest in learning new things for their own sake.

My go-to activities include reading, bicycling, deciding I know how to use power tools I've never seen before, organizing things, and picking destinations so I have an excuse to go on a long walk. I think of myself as a hard worker, an ethical person, and a sincere friend. I am looking for excellent people in DC who enjoy going out or staying in with other excellent people.

Frittering away my prestigious education by working as a cook under a reputable chef in Chevy Chase. I have a lot of good options going forward, but I'm concentrating on getting the most out of where I am now.

My all-time favorite movie is Antonia's Line; other favorites include Death at a Funeral (the Frank Oz version), Requiem for a Dream, Up, and Serenity. I will watch anything.

My favorite books include Twain's Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc, Hesse's Siddhartha, McGee's On Food and Cooking, Heinlein's Starship Troopers, and Goncharov's Oblomov. I enjoy sci-fi, fantasy, humor, and history (particularly recent history).

Music is difficult for me to pin down. I enjoy excellence in every genre, from pop to rap to classic to folk to techno to dubstep to throw-in-your-favorite. Right now I'm really enjoying Carbon Leaf, Metric, Blackalicious, Danger, Lily Allen, and Parov Stelar.

Alternately, the things which live in my bag: phone, tablet, ID/credit cards, chapstick, umbrella, and some two-player game.

What I want to do next (in the day, over the week, for my life). How best to beat my schedule into line and make everything I want to do possible.
