My self-summary
I suppose a short list of likes and dislikes is a good indication of whether or not you should message me. So...

I like....
Coffee, History (early Islamic history, Christian history, US revolution), Hemingway, playing football every so often, Caravaggio, comedies, looking at my guitar and hoping I might one day be magically able to play it, Paris, Michigan, The Libertines, Sinatra, photography, and of course, Netflix.

I do not like....
the extraordinary amount of time it takes me to change duvet covers. And clubbing; because it's appalling.

I've fleeted between jobs for as long as I can remember. I've also lived for a while in Australia and a couple of months in the US. I have a degree in Politics & Journalism, I'm currently a photographer - I've been published in a US college textbook and a Malaysian interior design magazine - I also restore old damaged family photos and colourise them, I built my own sort of photobooth for events, and I write on philosophy, politics and mainly religion here: http://futiledemocracy.wordpress.com. I also write freelance for a couple of other companies. But, I now want something new, so I've signed up for teacher training, and I'm volunteering at a primary school where I may have accidentally told one of the kids that I'm secretly Batman. I'll probably decide I want to be something else in a year or two. I have a list of very unrealistic goals. I want to do far too many things. But giving them all a try is better than settling for second best.

If any of this appeals (and especially if you have an American accent, or happen to be Audrey Tautou).... message me!

I'm not great at anything in particular. But I can hold a decent conversation, take a worthwhile picture, and occasionally produce written works that I'm quite proud of. I think. I may be deluding myself on all of those points.
