My self-summary
I am in a relationship and 'm quite easy going, sociable and I like to talk. I'm passionate about things that are important to me, but not to the point of dour. I'm quite irreverent and find humour in a lot of things. I spend as much time laughing as is possible, life is too short to moan about things.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for the government but mostly do union stuff, specialising in LGBT issues. Mostly trying to get my life sorted out a bit as there are a lot of changes going on. Extremely busy, I travel around quite a lot for meetings and stuff and am often tired!
I’m really good at
Cooking, ranting, socialising. I'm romantic and always thinking of little things to let someone know I care.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm pretty noticeable whether I want to be or not! Definitely not low-profile. I'd love to say it's my effortless style but that would be pushing it. I'd hope you'd notice my green eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
films: Kill Bill 1&2, Bound, Baisse Moi, Muriel's Wedding, As Good As it Gets, Hitchcock films, anything by Pedro Almodovar or Mike Leigh, and I do like subtitled international films so long as I'm not too tired to concentrate.
Too many books to mention. I like Sarah Waters, Val McDermid, Patricia Cornwell , D.J.Connell, Jeanette Winterson (when she's not annoying me) also Paulina Simons (Tully) though I like a lot of other random stuff too, I loved Vernon God Little and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. My bookshelf collapsed and it was not insubstantial so I have succumbed to using my iPad (yes, I know, heresy) and the library as I just don't have room for all the lovely books.
Listening to Tina Dico, Gomez, Zero7, the Smiths, Kirsty MacColl, Pink, Tiesto, loads of stuff, I always have something playing in my head!
I love cooking and will happily put together a meal from scratch (and mostly to my own recipe) by way of relaxation. There will usually be a nice glass of whatever goes perfectly with dinner.
I confess to being a hedonist and like all my senses to be stimulated. maybe not all at once.
The six things I could never do without
Decent knives, my IPhone a notebook, music, my camera, good friends and optimism.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Politics. Hating politics. Planning my time and travel arrangements (trying to avoid double booking) and fretting about all the stuff on my to-do list! When it's not all practical things, I will be thinking about interesting new projects (photography, cooking, travelling), or people I want to spend time with.
On a typical Friday night I am
I like to meet up with friends, go for a drink and a catch up. Rarely stay out late unless I'm away and exploring somewhere different. I enjoy websurfing if I'm staying in.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I exude confidence and assertion in a work environment, and I'm very convincing as a public speaker.....but I don't always have a full grip of the plot. Shhh.....
