My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm laid-back and low maintenance. I love to make others laugh even more than I laugh myself. I absolutely adore Golden Retrievers even though I currently am without any, but I intend to have them again in the future. I haven't traveled nearly as much as I would like, and envision that changing. I'd love to have a partner-in-crime for that. I greatly enjoy baseball and football, but the only team I'm passionate about is the Mets, and I have little interest in any other sports, so you don't have to fear that I'd be glued to a TV all weekend. I am nuts about movies (see below). I enjoy exploring new places, activities that are educational, fun, or both, and just spending quality time with someone special.

My summary is a work-in-progress, just like we all are as people!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently in the process of figuring it out. I used to be a retail manager, but it wasn't fulfilling for me. I don't want to slave away without getting any joy from my job. So, I've been considering returning to school and going a different way, potentially in the field of sports broadcasting/journalism. I have a strong desire to do something that I'm passionate about. I have a good head on my shoulders, I've just had difficulty finding my way.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
not knowing what to write about myself!

spelling and grammar. I can sometimes be a stickler for it, sorry.

driving in congested cities, especially NYC

recognizing a celebrity doing a voice-over commercial! I have pinpoint accuracy. :) This will come in handy when they award tons of cash on a celebrity voice-over commercial game show in the future.

geeky stuff, like managing a fantasy baseball team (and football to a lesser extent)

In all seriousness, I'm really good at being a friend. That includes being a best friend to the girl I'm with. I am always there to listen, to the good and bad, whether it's just for letting off some steam or something important that calls for advice. I don't have very many close relationships, so I like to put everything I've got into the ones I do have.
The first things people usually notice about me

is my modesty? That's what makes this difficult to answer! Physically, you tell me. I have nice blue eyes. I wear glasses. I'm always wearing a baseball cap, so maybe that's it. Outside of that, I think it's my sense of humor, quick wit, and eagerness to make those around me laugh, even at my own expense.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books- I haven't read for pleasure in quite a while. Fiction-wise, I enjoy books by Chuck Palahniuk and Bret Easton Ellis. Is that cliche? I also have a nice collection of books about film theory, technique, and analysis.

Movies- I honestly don't know how to select my favorites. Movies have long been my #1 hobby/passion, and I studied them in school. I have a quite large personal collection and abuse Netflix. I will admit to being a bit of a film snob, as I prefer films that stimulate me intellectually instead of typical Hollywood blockbusters. I love mysteries/thrillers, independent/art films, and I more often choose my films based on who directed them instead of who stars in them. I love to discuss/debate them too, so if you are into that, I bet we could at least be good friends.

Shows- I'm not much of a television watcher. I prefer to use that time watching a movie instead! But besides watching sports (baseball and pro football only), I do have a few shows I enjoy: 24 (when it aired), Dexter, True Blood, Shameless, Californication, Homeland, Ray Donovan, and Masters of Sex.

Music- This may be hard to believe, but I really don't listen to any music. Weird, huh? It's sorta like a take it or leave it thing with me. There is definitely stuff I like, and if I hear it somewhere, that's great. But I don't go out of my way to find it. I don't own an iPod. That being said, there was a time when I would occasionally buy a CD... I mostly listened to some select rap/hip-hop, hard rock, etc. I can look back fondly on that, but at the same time, I really don't feel like I'm missing anything. So you can always choose the music in the car, I don't mind! :)

Food- I'm actually kind of selective even if I don't appear to be. I enjoy all the American basics, as well as Italian, Mexican, and Chinese. There's lots that I've never tried before... some I'd be willing, some probably not. I love a good home-made meal just as much as going out. It's hard for me to be adventurous with cuisine... can you convert me?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Are we talking literally or figuratively? I'm not counting air and water and other givens!

in no particular order:
the internet
cherry limeade
an intriguing film to watch/discuss
a great friend or two
a microwave (I'm lazy sometimes, I admit it)
my SodaStream!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
everything. I tend to over-think... I think. :) But seriously, I think about life, career options, love, what I'm going to have for dinner, my friends, etc. You name it, I think about it.

Lately, I've been thinking about how so many people made it to adulthood without knowing that the sun is larger than the earth.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
probably at home watching a movie. I'm not much of a drinker so the bar scene isn't really my thing, although I do on occasion and have no problem if you drink more often than me. I went out much more when I was younger, and I'm certainly not opposed. In fact, I'm looking to broaden my horizons, activity-wise. I just need to find the right girl to go out with. :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
is that I have an ongoing battle (both physically and emotionally) with severe psoriasis. No, it's not communicable so you can't get it. In the past I've done my best to hide it, but I'm learning that if someone can't accept me for all that I am, they don't deserve my love/friendship/concern anyway. I have made tremendous strides in this area. I wanted to be open and am willing to discuss, but I won't allow it to define me.

you like your guy a bit geeky, and accept quirks or idiosyncrasies

I'm up for making some friends as well as looking for love. In fact, becoming friends first probably isn't so bad anyway. I'm online often, so hit me up!
