My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Originally from Upstate NY, been a NYCer for 7 years and a Brooklynite for three.

I have a pretty good business going, and a very varied life, and now it might be time to look for more. I'm skeptical about finding that here, but where else does one look these days?

I really enjoy traveling, particularly road trips -- I have a car and sometimes have the itch to actually take it somewhere!

My work life is very planned, and my personal life is really spontaneous. I'm usually up for anything.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Running my own consulting firm, which works mostly with not-for-profits and startup for-profits. Being an executive coach. Volunteer work for social service agencies. Producing theater.

Monopolizing the jukebox with a drink in my hand and maybe a book or computer at the bar.

Biking. A lot.

Reading, reading, reading... I almost always have at least one book on me.

I play some guitar, but haven't had much reason to lately. If you want to play with me, message me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good TV company.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Fun sneakers.

I'll eat pretty much anything. But I happen to think that Chinese dumplings and light beer go very well together. I love a good martini, bourbon, scotch, Irish whiskey, vodka, wine... OK, drinking is fun.

Books: Steinbeck, Tolkien (no, I haven't seen any of the movies), Caro, Loewen, Hemingway, Herbert, Turtledove, Shakespeare, Vonnegut... and Watterson :). I read two or three a week. A lot of history and a lot of stuff I should've read in high school but didn't (recently finished The Scarlet Letter)

Movies: Anything Wes Anderson puts out. Don't see too many others these days.

TV: It's Always Sunny, You're the Worst, Man Seeking Woman, The League, The Americans, Archer, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Daily/Nightly/Oliver, Togetherness, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Buffy/Angel, Veronica Mars, Kimmy Schmidt, Seinfeld, House of Cards, Arrested Development, Northern Exposure, X-Files, Shameless, House of Lies, Workaholics, Broad City, Rescure Me, Transparent, Game of Thrones, early Simpsons, South Park, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Sopranos, Ray Donovan, Veep, Mad Men, Episodes, The Comeback, Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, Community, West Wing, 24, House, Parks & Rec, Community, Halt & Catch Fire, Review, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

Interstate Love Song might be the perfect three minutes of music ever recorded. Big fan of STP. Also, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Elliott Smith, Jimmy Eat World, The Beatles, Fastball, Tonic, Our Lady Peace, Phish, pre-2002 Dave-Matthews Band, Ben Folds Five, Barenaked Ladies, Alice in Chains, Band of Horses, Black Crowes, Billy Joel, The Cardigans, CSNY, Fiona Apple, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, Incubus, Heatmiser, Local H, Modest Mouse, Nick Drake, Queens of the Stone Age, Todd Rundgren, Soundgarden, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Tom Petty, The Who, Wilco
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Exercise, connections to the world, wine, bed, music, and yeah, probably TV.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How the lint trap in the dryer works.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably in the gym or working or something. I have a really flexible life and like going out when things aren't so crazy. Sunday and Thursday nights are currently my favorite nights to head out into the neighborhood for a nightcap or three.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Lady Marmalade is one of my favorite songs.

I'm not particularly private; you can ask me anything.
