My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
According to my friends, I'm Ted Moseby.

I judge people by how well they treat the people they don't know, not so much on the ones they do... and I try to live by that standard myself... still, I'm more badass than you'd think.

Always doing something. Bringing my computer, my books, my notes to the bar.

Helping people. Giving advice, working through issues. I do it professionally and personally. Sometimes better at helping other than myself.

Thinking about car trips. Sometimes I actually take them. When I do, they're often to random places (I really want to drive to Halifax!)

I'm equally good at planning and going with the flow.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Running my own consulting firm, which works mostly with not-for-profits. Being an executive coach

A lot of volunteer work. Currently working with a not-for-profit TV station (it's fun being in a studio!),an organization encouraging volunteerism, and a pretty neat online publication.

Studying organizational behavior.

Taking some time off from sports to let injuries heal.

Monopolizing the jukebox.

Finding the best food I can, and sipping something.

Biking for hours through random areas of Brooklyn and Queens.

Reading, reading, reading... I almost always have at least one book on me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
My job.

Trivia -- in and out of context.

I'm pretty good at a lot of things (music, sports, writing), but not REALLY good at them.

For the record, I can't dance. At all. I'm up for learning, though.

And I'm really good TV company.
The first things people usually notice about me

A thick-ass head of hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love food -- cheap, expensive, down and dirty, fancy... I'll eat pretty much anything. But I happen to think that Chinese dumplings and light beer go very well together. I'm kind of a carb hog and my pasta eating habits are kind of notorious at the places I tend to hang out.

Not really a vodka guy, much more into gin and whiskey. Also Calvados lately.

I'll read anything that crosses my desk or my screen. I probably read about 2-3 books a week and keep up with 10-15 political and sports blogs/websites. My favorite authors include Steinbeck, Tolkien, Caro, Loewen, Hemingway, Herbert, Turtledove... and Watterson :)

I don't watch a lot of movies, but will pretty much see anything Wes Anderson puts out.

My favorite TV shows include Northern Exposure, Dexter, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, That 70s Show, Seinfeld, 30 Rock, Scrubs, Malcolm in the Middle, Six Feet Under, West Wing, Sports Night,South Park, Lost (when I can pretend the series finale didn't happen), New Girl, The League, Upright Citizens Brigade, Sopranos, Modern Family, Chuck, Friday Night Lights, Louie, Rescue Me, Eastbound and Down, Homeland, Buffy, Angel, It's Always Sunny, Arrested Development, Party Down, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex, You're the Worst, Veronica Mars.. but there's never been anything better than Breaking Bad. Oh, and if I say I like a show, I've probably seen every single episode of it and will be pretty passionate about it in conversation. I guess that's either an invitation or a caution depending on your perspective!

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My gym, my bed, my computer, my phone , my music collection, Chapstick (I'm kind of an addict)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How "both sides" don't "do it." Also, about how the lint trap in the dryer works.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Damned if I know. My schedule's flexible and sometimes Sunday night or Monday night can be my Friday night... the days are pretty interchangeable.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Not gonna lie... despite the fact that it fits absolutely nowhere with my music tastes above, Lady Marmalade is one of my favorite songs.
