I am creative, unique, and reliable.
My Self-Summary
I am a writer and an active graduate student. I’ve never used a
site like this before but thought it might be a good idea since
among my peers I often run into people that are either married or
engaged or otherwise not available. I have many ambitions and
pursue all of them while having fun. I like running, fencing, going
to shows, seeing movies, writing stories, playing guitar (electric
and acoustic). I like the Fall and Winter months despite what
others say about them. Summer’s not bad but it’s a little hot for
my tastes!
What I’m doing with my life
I’d say I’m doing a lot with my life. I’m still in graduate school
so some of this is in progress. I work as a Research Assistant so
my job and my school are all rolled into one (with many great
benefits for doing it). I’m studying Public Policy and my previous
background is in Political Science, History, and Fine Arts (Music
in particular). For the record, I'm not affiliated with a political
party but I'm more of a left leaning person on most issues. On the
other hand, I’ve written and published a fantasy novel. The second
book in the series is finished but just needs to be edited. I play
guitar in my spare time.
I’m really good at
I have an artistic and practical side and they both complement each
other. They compete a little too (haha!). I’m good at doing what I
say I will do whether it’s giving people a call back or completing
a major project I started.
The first things people usually notice about me
The first things people tend to notice about me are: my curiosity,
my eyes, my hair and my generally agreeable attitude.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Here's a surprise. I'm not one of the people that say "I like
everything!" Yes, I like a lot but I'll spare you the trouble and
give you some names.
Books: My book collection is huge but I really liked the Three
Musketeers, Treasure Island, Cup of Gold, Eclipse of Reason,
Reflections on the Revolution in France by Burke (a damn good
writer that I rarely ever agree with fundamentally. I'm mesmerized
by his way with words) and in general History or Philosophy.
Movies: Equilibrium, The Illusionist, Prozac Nation, The Merchant
of Venice, Stranger than Fiction, Nosferatu, Pirates of the
Caribbean (all), Gangs of New York, Dark City, Wicker Park, Dead

to Yuma, Danton, The Ring, The Island, The Last Samurai, Silent
Hill, A Scanner Darkly, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Lady in the
Water, Arthur, Valkyrie, August Rush, and more.
Music: I like a wide variety of music but some of my favorite
artists are Queensryche, Franz Joseph Haydn, Vast, Cradle of Filth,
Domenico Scarlatti, Pennywise, any Balinese Gamelan music, The
Living End, The Scanners, Antonin Dvorak, Type O Negative,
Graveyard, Deadsy, Fear Factory, J.S. Bach, The Birthday Massacre,
Dragonforce, Sir Edward Elgar, HIM, The Cult, Ludwig van Beethoven,
Dresden Dolls, Killing Joke, The 69 Eyes, Fleetwood Mac, Antonio

the Heartbreakers, Rhapsody, Gogol Bordello, and so many others I
haven't mentioned.
Food: I'm a vegetarian and I like a lot of stuff under that
description.
The six things I could never do without
I tend to be good at making do, but it would suck to do without my
car, my computer, my music, interaction with others, rest when rest
is long overdue and variety.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about the stories I write, what I’m
doing on any given day, other people I know.
On a typical Friday night I am
There isn’t really a typical Friday night for me in terms of a
recurring activity. It depends a lot on what’s going on and if
people interested.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Part of me thinks that putting this profile together is strange,
but this site seems more down to earth than the other strange ones
out there.
You should message me if
The majority of the above clicks well with you. I’m not saying we
have to be twins, just that we would probably appreciate these
things more than most would. If too many things on this profile
made you raise an eyebrow, give yourself some time to think on it.
