I am creative, forthright, and weirdo.

My Self-Summary

I'm a motion capture director (cross between a 3D animator & choreographer). No matter what it is, I'm always creating something. I draw constantly, love to cook and grow my own herbs & veggies. I've been doing traditional Chinese martial arts for 27 years... it's a family thing.

I love to laugh and make others laugh. Life is too absurd not to be able to laugh at it. I'm sarcastic but never cynical. I keep up with politics and love history. I don't follow sports. My useless talents include: a photographic memory for acting and trivia, fluency in a dead language, attracting crazy people (not Glenn Close/Fatal Attraction crazy, more like Brad Pitt/12 Monkeys crazy).

What I’m doing with my life

I'm doing what I love, motion capture, choreography & 3d animation.

Aside from that...
I'm always trying to make something new.
Been going to local theater more.
Thinking of taking up western fencing lessons.

I’m really good at

Making people laugh. I don't like victim humor, so I'm usually the butt of my own jokes.

Cooking, especially Italian and Cajun. I can cook almost anything.

Character creation; Drawing; acting; animating; writing (though not in these weird layouts)

The first things people usually notice about me

I laugh and smile a lot.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind, America: a Democracy Inaction, If At All Possible Involve a Cow, Canterbury Tales, Ender's Game, The Hero of 1000 Faces, Asimov, Herbert, Ovid, Homer, The Voyage of Argo, and lots of non-fiction and bio stuff lately.

Movies (too long so just favorite names): Gene Wilder, Steve Martin, Belushi, Akroyd, Ramis, Murray, Ivan Reitman, Chris Guest, Monty Python, Stephen Chow, the Cusacks; Yuen Woo Ping, Tsui Hark, Zhang Yimou; tons of animated & sci-fi flicks (not much anime though); Dramas & Docs that have a pulse.

TV: Daily Show, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, SNL '75-'82&'88-'94, History & Bravo, The Prisoner, Early Warner Bros Cartoons, The Muppets Show (original series)

Music: Elvis Costello, Blondie, Dinosaur Jr., Pixies, Bowie, Morphine, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Prince ,The Modern Lovers, Jay Farrar, Jeff Buckley, Deltron, Run DMC, Public Enemy, The Replacements, Brian Setzer, Jazz, Blues, Classical and Soul.

Food: Italian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Moroccan, Polish... I'm down for almost anything but kimchi.

The six things I could never do without

drawing book, colored pencils/pens, a computer, family, laughter, food

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Cooking stuff from scratch; movies; choreography; my indie animation; politics

On a typical Friday night I am

Depends on the week: Cooking is usually involved... and a bottle of red. Might go out to the movies or comedic theater. I'm looking for a new dance spot.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My life's an open book... I'm just not finished writing it quite yet, so you'll have to ask.
