My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a laid back, dorky guy looking to date same. People tell me I'm awesome. I think I'm all right. I've been out of date mode for a while and looking to dive back in.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I spend my free time with friends playing dodgeball and boardgames and watching movies and such. I like to travel when I can, even if it's just to Alberta in February.

I basically have my dream job, writing and editing a TV quiz show. Sometimes people ask me what I want to do professionally, and while I certainly have other aspirations, most of me just wants to say "I'm good." I dread the day I'll have to move on.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm tall. So very tall. When I see someone taller it freaks me out a little.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I want to talk about Gone Girl. I like to imagine I'm an intellectual, but I mostly read R.L. Stine. Also love Griffin and Sabine by Nick Bantock, and most everything by Neil Gaiman but especially Sandman and Good Omens. I've read most Stephen King, favourites of his are Eyes of the Dragon and Needful Things. Other notable authors include Kurt Vonnegut, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Art Spiegelman, David Sedaris, and Gordon Korman.

Movies: Clue, The Opposite of Sex, Death Becomes Her, The Great Muppet Caper, Jurassic Park, Jawbreaker, That Thing You Do, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, Sleepaway Camp. Cabin in the Woods may be a new addition to the roster.

TV: Buffy. Community. Sherlock. Degrassi (original). Also Strangers With Candy, Breaking Bad, The Good Wife (the least cool awesome show ever) Mr. Show, Fraggle Rock, The X-Files, Star Trek TNG (for serious), Star Trek Voyager (for laughs), Freaks and Geeks, Seinfeld, Dexter, True Blood. Survivor is my secret shame.

Music: I am currently obsessed with Matt and Kim and the new Fiona Apple and Amanda Palmer records. I love Sleater-Kinney, The Magnetic Fields, Jonathan Richman, Kathleen Edwards, Belle and Sebastian, and a wall of text that used to be here. I usually have a 90s song in my head. At time of writing it's "She's So High" by Tal Bachman. Ask me what it is today.

Food: Pizza for life.

Video Games: The Secret of Monkey Island, Persona 4, Katamari Damacy, Ace Attorney, Skyrim/Oblivion, Gabriel Knight (along with most other old school Sierra games), Super Mario RPG, Bully. Many more, but these are the ones that mean the most to me. Actually, amend that to all my lists.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. A sense of wonder, only slightly used.
2. Thunderstorms
3. Tattoos
4. Awesome podcasts like Judge John Hodgman and Harmontown for the walk to work
5. r/wheredidthesodago
6. A Simpsons reference for every occasion. And oh yes, I really hate yoyos.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The line from The Wallflowers' "One Headlight" that goes "She said 'It's cold, it feels like Independence Day.'" Where is she from where Independence Day isn't celebrated in the summer? Mongolia, which celebrates Independence Day on December 29? Or maybe correlation does not equal causation and it's cold, AND it feels like Independence Day, but the two are not related. But Eisenstein's theory of montage would indicate that really shouldn't be the case. These are the problems that keep me awake at night.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I've always been pretty quiet Fridays, I like to catch a movie or hang out with friends, sometimes just chill out with some gaming. The occasional night of drinks and dancing is nice, but if you're looking for someone to close the clubs with you, that's not me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I like weed. It's not a huge part of my identity or anything but a bowl does me better than a beer most times. People have told me not to mention this on here, but if it's a dealbreaker for you don't you want to know at the start?

You're looking for a warmhearted, responsible yet totally silly dude to team up with and take on the world.
