Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I usually think either too much or too little about what to put in
descriptions like these, and I guess that says something about me.
My personality is characterized by a delicate interplay of
extremes. I try my best to strive for balance, even though
sometimes the extremes make their presence felt. I'm a guy with a
dark side who chooses to be good because I believe it's better for
everyone that way. I see the beauty in all things and yearn for the
contentment of all who surround me. I think I'm open-minded and
well-rounded and polite enough to be well-liked by most people who
aren't too cynical, abrasive, or caustic. I've been sad a lot, but
have a generally optimistic attitude and demeanor regardless. I
don't really get along with people who are sarcastic or mean just
for the sake of cruelty.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My power and passion is writing, but I haven't shown the dedication
that I should. My dream is to become a world-renowned author of
fantasy and science fiction and then branch out to other creative,
business, and philanthropic pursuits. Recently, I landed a job as
an English teacher at a military academy. I taught literature to
9th, 10th, and 11th graders. I didn't have any pedagogic
experience, but it was thrilling learning to manage a classroom
just by getting in there, and the other teachers were really
supportive in showing me the ropes. My contract didn't get renewed,
but it was one of the best experiences of my life and I now know
that teaching really is one of the things I was made for. At the
moment I'm still wondering whether I'll pursue it or focus on
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Bringing out the best in people. Creating and describing other
worlds, possible realities, and planes of existence. Concealing
spiritual, philosophical, and inspirational undertones in fun or
terrifying fantastical settings. Boosting people's confidence and
sense of self-worth.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My profile pics probably don't attest to this very well, but it's
most likely my smile. When I was a little boy, one of my teachers
had a poster in her classroom. It was a drawing of a nice man
smiling and floating away with a bunch of balloons in his hand that
had the mouth part of a smiley face drawn onto them. On the ground
there was another man with upset eyes and no mouth. The floating
man was handing him a balloon with a smiley mouth. The caption
read: "If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours."
For some reason, that poster has stuck with me my whole life. I
truly believe a smile at a stranger can brighten an entire day or
even save a life. I tend to smile at whoever links eyes with me for
a moment, so it's probably the first thing a person notices about

Clive Barker is my favorite author and I probably owe some of my
own writing style to his. Some of my favorites of his works are The
Thief of Always, The Great and Secret Show, and Weaveworld.
I'm not a big movie guy, but there are a few that have stayed with
me, especially: What Dreams May Come, The Craft, Practical Magic,
Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, etc. I have a soft spot for
Hayao Miyazaki's animé. I must admit, I also really like zombie
apocalypse and vampire themed movies.
I AM a big series guy: True Blood, Once Upon a Time, Lost, Will
& Grace, 30 Rock, Orange is the New Black, The Walking Dead,
Glee, and lot's more. I'm always looking for my next series
I'm eclectic when it comes to music. I know what I like when I hear
it. It can be from any genre.
My mom is a chef. I was raised with an unimaginable appreciation
for the culinary arts and the culture behind cuisine. I love food
from all over the world and I never have a problem with trying
something new. My favorite food group is dairy. I love cheese so
much it makes me want to cry when I see a nice cheese section at a
market. Yes, it's that serious. No, just kidding. But I like
cheese. A lot.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Food (Not in the "you need it to live" sense)
- God (Probably not in the way you might think)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Things it had been hoped I wouldn't think about during my
upbringing but that have become an accepted fact of the different
creature I am within the majority of my family. Things I wish I
thought less about so that I could have a more fulfilling life.
Things that I wish I thought more about so that I could have a more
fulfilling life. Lots of things, lot's of the time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably went to a club by myself because my real friends don't
really like going out and I need a chance to blow steam with some
drinking and dancing once in a while.
Fine dining would be nice if I had the money to indulge every
weekend. I do it once in a while.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm fucking lonely in a romantic sense.
