I am dashing and daring, courageous, and caring!.
My Self-Summary
There's little I enjoy more than a long, intelligent conversation
about anything in particular. I try to surround myself with
interesting people from all walks of life.
My friends are my family. There is nothing more important in my
life than them.
I have goofy tendencies and I often say odd things that illicit
smiles, laughs, eye-rolls, or a combination of all three. I also
have a tendency to dance silly little dances when there's no
music.
To quote Blur, "I'm a professional cynic but my heart's not in it."
Spend any amount of time with me and you'll discover that I'm an
incurable optimist. Rarely do I let bad stuff stay with me for any
length of time. Don't get me wrong; I'm not a Pollyanna or
anything. I simply don't allow bad things to reside in my psyche.
What I’m doing with my life
After acquiring my Bachelors of Science in Communications back in
2003, I did the next logical thing: I started working at
RadioShack. Makes perfect sense to me. Following 4+ years of retail
management craptastickness (sp?), I am now gainfully employed by
DISH Network, in which capacity I drive all over God's creation,
schmooze with retailers, and develop the sweetest trucker's tan you
have ever seen.
I’m really good at
I'm a really good driver. All guys think they're really good
drivers, and I am their King; they all aspire to be as good as I
think I am.
I make a damn good cup of coffee.
I've also been known to effectively insert big fancy words into
everyday conversation, like "sycophant" and "obsequious" and
"syzygy". How very polysyllabic of me. <---Look! There's one
now!
The first things people usually notice about me
Other than my oversized head? I'm extremely approachable and easy
to talk to.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
(A) Favorite book of all time would have to be "A Heartbreaking
Work of Staggering Genius" by Dave Eggers. I should really read
more stuff by him. I am also an unabashed fan of Stephen King. I
really think he gets a bad rap. Big fan of Henry Rollins spoken
word stuff, too.
(B) I've never been a huge movie guy, but I'd have to say my
all-time favorite would have to be American Beauty. Lester Burnham
is one of my heros.
(C) Yes, the following list is in alphabetical order...
APC, Ryan Adams, Air, Angie Aparo, Atmosphere, Beastie Boys, Ben
Folds (Five), James Brown, Busta Rhymes, The Clash, Patsy Cline,
Jim Croce, The Darkness, Def Leppard, The Fire Theft, Foo Fighters,
Fugazi, The Get Up Kids, Goldfinger, Jets to Brazil, Jimmy Eat
World, Juno Reactor, Kings of Convenience, Led Zepplin, Gordon
Lightfoot, Ludacris, Massive Attack, MC Chris, Modest Mouse, Jason
Mraz, Willie Nelson, Nirvana, OutKast, Pearl Jam, The Pietasters,

Sunny Day Real Estate, System of a Down, Twothirtyeight, Violent
Femmes, Weezer, Stevie Wonder
(D) Oh, I'm not that picky. Put it on my plate and I'll probably
eat it. Unless it's broccoli or contains mayonnaise. I can spot
mayonnaise from a mile away, so don't even try to sneak some mayo
by me. Blech.
The six things I could never do without
Good music, Diet Pepsi, friends, Mystery Science Theater 3000
reruns, Autumn in Maine, enough room to pass this slow driver in
front of me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I put things that I have misplaced. I can be a little
scatterbrained like that.
On a typical Friday night I am
Relaxing on the couch watching The Soup. Or out to dinner with
friends. Or playing poker. Or hanging out in the Old Port. Or
enjoying an adult beverage at Joshua's Tavern.
I guess if you list more than two things, the word "typical" can no
longer apply, so I guess there is no typical Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a slight obsession with expensive man accessories: Shoes,
sunglasses, pens, and watches. Especially watches. I spend way, way
too much money on watches.
You should message me if
You should message me if you're really opinionated about really
trivial or really important things, and you enjoy convincing others
that you're right and they're wrong.
You should also message me if you contend, as I do, that Def
Leppard's "Hysteria" is the greatest rock album of the 80s. That
way you can tell my friends and they won't think I'm such a
weirdo.
You should also message me if you know for a fact that "Can't
Hardly Wait" was a better film than "Varsity Blues", and you can
put together a cohesive argument to support your conclusion.
