Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love having fun -- playing tennis, dancing, traveling,
entertaining, and many other ways. I am a bit shy until you get to
know me and I get to know you. I love to dance because it's good
for the soul, even if I don't look good doing it. I am very
sensitive, but my sense of humor is my saving grace. Unlike many
women I know, I don't particularly like shopping. My friends are a
diverse and crazy group of folks who I adore, but I don't do a lot
of 'hanging' out stuff. Although I like to be active and around
music and people, I also have a need to balance that with solitude
and meditation. I have been told that I am a good listener and
mentor. My taste in music is pretty eclectic from jazz to hip-hop
to classical to world to R&B to anything that sounds good (even
country, once in awhile ala Nora Jones). If money were no object
and I could do anything I want, I would establish a place for teens
who need a safe and supportive space to encourage their creativity
and express that part which is unheard. My friends tell me I clean
up nicely and I have good taste, whatever that means. I love the
new technology and am excited about the future in spite of the
economy, wars, and disasters. I refuse to give up on our younger
generations. I dislike people telling me what to do or how to act -
unless I ask for an opinion. I am looking for someone who is
interested in what's happening in our world. Chemistry is
important, because I am still very alive and love that feeling.
However, it's also about style, wit, intelligence, and sensitivity.
Relationships are about comfort and being able to communicate with
your partner. In my opinion (and I could be wrong as Dennis Miller
would say). most drama is the result of poor communication;
oftentimes being afraid to say what you mean, feel or desire. My
schedule is sometimes quite demanding, but I will make time for
meeting new people, and hopefully, that special person for a
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living it! Okay, briefly, I teach and do counseling as a career. I
love to play tennis, listen to live music, dance, read (mostly
non-fiction), and ....sooo much more. Sometimes, though, when I'm
mentally exhausted, I like to go home and sit in front of the tv
with some popcorn and watch a really funny movie, or
action-adventure stuff - ahhhhh.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Really good? That's a stretch for me, so I'll go with pretty
good..at listening, caring, teaching, tennis, dancing, sharing,
problem-solving - but that's jut my opinion - again.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Quite honestly, I'm not really sure. My friends tell me it is my
eyes and my smile, as far as first impressions go.

Way too many to list here - I have so much appreciation for
creativity in any realm. I like variety and trying new things when
it comes to food, but there are times when I get a taste for that
certain memorable dish, and nothing else will do. It is difficult
to pick one movie, but a few come to mind: Sophie's Choice, Blazing
Saddles, Don Juan DeMarco...and the list keeps growing in my head.
As for music, my preference is for jazz and R&B, but also like
Latin, Classical, some Pop and Classic Rock - good music is just
that, regardless of the genre.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My family and friends, first and foremost, who bring me so much joy
and love. The rest are more dificult: my hearing because I so love
music; eyesight because I am very visual (the unspoken is often
more meaningful and impactful than the spoken); books of all kinds,
(not on iPad or kindle) because there is something about the
physical nature of the traditional book.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can improve myself as a friend, a professional, a parent, and
being more mindful and aware. I think about what is happening in
our global society and the significance of change (which is
inevitable), such as the impact of technology on social relations.
I am very curious, so often do research to find answers to
questions about our world. My focus tends to be in the present,
with an eye toward future possibilities.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sometimes, I go out with friends to listen to live music at one of
the local jazz/music venues. There's a lot of good music to be
heard in the greater LA area. Otherwise, I may be meeting freinds
for dinner, going to an art opening, or just relaxing at home after
a demanding week of work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
LOL! It amazes me what people will put out in the ethers with no
clue as to where it will go or who may see it. I will be happy
share when the time is right and I know with whom I am sharing.

I am open to making new friends as well as meeting someone with
whom I might become more intimate. I am a people person and enjoy
stimulating conversation with all kinds of people, so even if it's
not a love connection, we can meet for coffee and conversation -
