My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello, My name is Jeff.

First off, I have joined this site not to find an instant partner, but to find friends. It is unfair to add the pressure of "could I be in a relationship with this person" to the first time ever meeting someone. Talk about judging a book by it's cover. Instead start with friendship with the potential to develop into a relationship.

With that in mind, please take a second to review my profile and questions, and ask yourself: Could I be friends with this person?

I am a 27 year old male living in Grand Rapids making something great and exciting out of each day that I come across.

I have a great amount of compassion towards all people. My main objective throughout each day is to yield net positive affect on the world around me.

I love to laugh, I love to learn, I love people.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
The Fun:
I play music, bike everywhere (it is truly an addiction), spend time with friends, strive to hike on every inch of land in this great state, enjoy many craft brews, and Laugh laugh laugh.

The Work:
Civil, Electrical Engineer / Project Manager (NERD ALERT)
In short, I am tasked with rebuilding the electrical infrastructure better than new. Bringing "Power to the People"! (insert lame pun)

I strive in my work to bring a more alternative, lifelike personality to the stereotypical engineering field.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh, laughing myself, not taking myself to seriously, playing many instruments, fixing anything that is broken, cooking, making things grow, problem solving, common sense.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My Sense of Humor, Drive to Solving a Problem, My Eagerness to Introduce Myself and Meet Someone New..... and oh yeah, My Beard

Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books:
Any Work of Carl Hiaasen, Lord of the Rings Series, The End of Faith, A Long Way Gone, Literature From the Axis of Evil, to name a few.

Movies:
I'll stick to writers and directors; Guy Richie, Wes Anderson, The Coens Brothers, Tim Burton, Ridley Scott.

Shows:
Sienfield, The Simpsons, Cheers, Fraiser, Parks and Recreation, Spaced, Occasional X-files or Outdoors Show Episodes. (Rarely do I actually watch television)

Music:
Everything under the sun... I will name a few of my favorites; Animal Collective, The Flaming Lips, Pavement, Weezer, Do Make Say Think, Mogwai, Earth, Explosions in the Sky, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Taj Mahal, John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Al Green, Sly and Family Stone, Aretha Franklin, Rufus.

Food:
I cook the vast majority of my meals; if it is locally produced and wholesome in nature you will find me close by. I eat food from every culture that I can get my hands on. This is not to say that I never eat out, but if I do it needs to be a non-chain, local establishment.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Friends - Experiences are best when they can be shared.

2. Family - Never forget where you come from.

3. Arts - They bring life to areas that need it.

4. Nature - Growing up in the upper peninsula of Michigan, I have learned that a relationship with the outdoors through all seasons is completely necessary.

5. Playing music - Some of my most fond memories stem from this activity.

6. My Bass Guitar - It has been with me now for 15 years (My longest standing relationship)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Peace, energy, my affect on people, The new things that I am learning about myself and the the world.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Decompressing from a hectic work by either having a quiet night in, going out to a nice dinner with friends, or hitting up the bars... All of them; Lets Rage ;).

The raging usually happens with a pack of people on bikes.
