Born and raised in Texas, but have had itchy feet ever since -- until finding SF. t...I went to college in Chapel Hill followed by 4 years in NYC and DC before moving West for business school. I couldn't be happier in the Bay Area and am overdosing on the outdoors. I'm a hiking, camping, skiing, and surfing junkie, and look for any opportunity I can find to get outside. While I love nothing more than the deep wilderness, I crave the energy and excitement of the city and am at home in both places. I'm passionate about environmental issues and how damaged the political process currently is, and so won't shy getting into a debate if that's your thing.

I'm somewhat of a paradox. I'm a dreamer and romantic but also pragmatic. I find myself easily restless, but also love to stay put for a while and develop a strong sense of community. I'm a poet and a quant -- creative, musical, and artistic, but loving a good numbers problem. And yes i can be a nerd, but the kind people enjoy rather than pick on. Overall, I'm an optimist, and have a hard time not savoring the moment or seeing the beauty in the small things.

I moved to California to go to business school and study international development at Stanford, and having just graduated in June, decided to start a company to try to make it easier and cheaper for immigrants to send money home to family and friends. I'm convinced that business and capitalism can make money and do good at the same time. As a first-time entrepreneur, I'm pinching myself that work can be so fun while trying to do a thousand things at the same time.

Getting off the beaten-path, exploring new places, traveling the world, and being adventurous. While I love a cozy base camp to come home to, I'm most authentically me when on the road exploring the curious world with my camera in tow. Skiing and backpacking have been my lifelong passions, and so I challenge you to tell me about a ski line or wilderness area that I haven't heard of.

I'm very easy-going and laid back, but if you hit the right buttons, I'm a packet full of energy.

Books: I love them but never have as much time as I'd like to read. Favorites - For Whom the Bell Tolls, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, Into the Wild, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Abstract Wild, Desert Solitaire...the list goes on and on.

Movies: A River Runs Through It, Shawshank Redemption, Legends of the Fall, Avatar, The Motorcycle Diaries, Big Fish, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Endless Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Music: There aint no music I don't like, and so it's a pretty diverse mix. Anything with a hearty violin, banjo, or trumpet currently gets high marks. Some favorites include Mumford and Sons, Glen Hansard, The Lumineers, Counting Crows, Eddie Vedder, Bon Iver, Of Monsters and Men, Bruce Springsteen, and Jackson Browne

Trying to find balance between the head and the heart.

There is no typical night -- I tend to get bored easily with routines. I love getting away on the weekends, staying out late or simply staying put to wake up early to get outside. Going to live music, dinner parties, wine, whisky, and listening for the fog horn in the distance.

You're somebody who craves adventure and getting outdoors, has a strong sense of identity and style, are confident, independent, and comfortable with yourself, are passionate and don't take life too seriously, and are forever curious and embracing of uncertainty and change. You like being active but are equally comfortable just relaxing and savoring the moment.
