My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up mostly in Ottawa, lived in China (and little bit in Southeast Asia) for over six years and that's shaped who I am a bit. I enjoy speaking other languages. Like the outdoors as do most people who live in this city (If I didn't I'd move somewhere cheaper to live:). Love riding my bicycle, I bike everywhere, puzzled not everyone rides a bike- it's such a fantastic invention. Hoping to one day take up mountain biking cause that one time got me hooked-can't believe I had been missing out on such a fantastic sport all my life (update: took course, bought a bike, apartment broken into and stolen:(-will put that on the back burner for a few years).

Hmm what else about me.... LOVE food, mostly I love eating it but like baking and starting to try and get into cooking more, still usually need to cook with friends to really enjoy it whereas I enjoy baking on my own and find it therapeutic. Really enjoy checking out new places to eat. Like playing games (if you’ve never tried game Dixit you Must try it). Oh, I admit, I'm rather competitive, it's just much more fun to win.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being there for people, planning stuff, conversation and communication (man communication is really tough for a lot of people, I've only gotten much better at it in my recent years, so I'm proud of this one!)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told they notice that I'm smiley and have a pretty bubbly personality although I must say I don't like the word bubbly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Unpolished Gem (my favourite), The Good Women of
China, Where the Sidewalk Ends, LA 流浪记 (maybe I liked it so much cause I was excited I could actually understand it), My Mother is Weird, The Giving Tree, Paper Bag Princess. It may look like I only read kids books. I do read novels it's just my favourites tend to still be kids books.

Shows: Grey's Anatomy (no judging!), The Knick (awesome, watch it),, Seinfeld, The Office, Flight of the Concords (sad there's not more episodes) and Parks and Recreation. HBO GIRLS (absolutely fantastic with wonderfully awkward sex scenes and finally naked women who don't look like barbie, wohoo!)

Movies: Snatch, Amélie, Billy Elliot (I think it's my favourite),
Romeo and Juliet, Love Actually, Office Space, Memento, Spaceballs, Orgasm Inc., The Goonies (probably movie I've seen the most, still watch it if it's on), Little Miss Sunshine (makes me feel like my family is not so crazy)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Hmm for now I'll have to say good friends and family, good food (none of that eat to live sillyness!), human touch, ear plugs, trees and a bicycle. Oh and Google maps, I know, that's seven.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Lately-how our health care system is looking pretty *ucked, especially if another conservative win.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hmmm that really varies so much. Sometimes out at some cultural event in the city, at beach or out to dinner with friends or having friends over for food or just relaxing at home after a long week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well I haven't owned a brush for over a month (just always forget to buy one when I'm out) so I've been using a dinglehopper. (Update: I have since bought a a brush!). Since I now no longer need a dinglehopper I guess I should give another private thing. So I only recently found out that it's "wind chill" and not "wind shield". Seriously for like the past 27 years I thought everyone was saying "wind shield" and I lived in Ontario and skied in Ontario and Quebec so heard and said those words a lot! I swear everyone was saying "wind shield"! Just last week said "wind shield" and friend's boyfriend called me out, maybe everyone else was just being polite.....

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you're a genuinely good person (I know, they are kind of rare), interesting and would want to hang out sometime and maybe see if something more develops, am now ready for long term down the line if things work out.

Oh and if you can prove that you actually read my profile, "Hi, how are you?" doesn't work (argh and now I get this message all the time and don't know if that's cause they read my profile and are being clever or cause they didn't read my just don't write it please!--recent update-still get this message at least once a day! Seriously guys, does this actually work on some women?). If there's a message that shows you didn't read profile and just went to the photos i won't reply (unless you write something SUPER duper clever, only one person has done this)

I'm at the point where I just want to be around people who are good at communicating and are open and honest with people.

Another thing, relationship wise I'm looking for someone who is more stable in their lives. They aren't currently trying to find themselves and have a more clear idea of what they want in life. All the power to you if you are trying to find yourself! I'm just not looking for that in a partner now (not a total deal-breaker if you are but you have to be pretty fantastic if you are in that situation, no pressure:).
