My self-summary
Intellectual pursuits are very important to me. I have a BA in philosophy and comparative religious studies. In particular, I like metaphysics, philosophy of the mind and mythology/sacred narratives, but I also like math, physics, and anthropology. I usually have at least some interest in just about everything.
I try to learn as much as I can from other religions though I will not agree with everything they teach.
I am an optimistic skeptic, a cynical idealist and a shy extrovert.
I like comedy, but I prefer satire over slapstick.
I think studying other languages is really interesting, but I'm not very good at it.
I had a car which I used to impress the ladies. (Doesn't work.) Now I impress them with how green I am by taking the bus.

Politically, I'm moderate, but not the kind of moderate who's just indecisive. People who are conservative tend to think that I'm liberal, and people who are liberal tend to think that I'm conservative. I am a strong believer in evolution, but I don't have any problem with creationism or other alternatives being taught in school.

My favourite wrapper is cellophane, but aluminum foil and wax paper can be very handy. I don't know why people are so interested in knowing about favourite wrappers.

My hobbies are reading, writing and arithmetic. I play some video games too. I also like drawing, painting, gardening and cooking but I haven't been doing much of them lately. As for going out kind of things: plays, concerts, comedy clubs, restaurants or whatever.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working in a job that isn't what I'd really like to be doing, but at least it's challenging, I somewhat enjoy it, and it is somewhat worthwhile.

I keep on learning.
I’m really good at
joking with a straight face, being sarcastic and teasing.

intellectually stimulating, witty and meaningful conversation.

making obscure movie and TV references.

I'm also pretty good at tutoring. I find it rewarding to help someone understand something that they didn't before.

I'm good at leaving witty comments on people's youtube videos.
The first things people usually notice about me
A girl at work said that I look like the type of person who'd like Christian Rock (which I don't) because I have an innocent and Christian look about me. Little does she know that I'm actually a bad-ass. That is right, yo. (That's what I told her anyway. She wasn't convinced.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I read a lot. I recently finished "Where the Wild Things Are".

Movies: Science Fiction, Comedy, and Action are my favourites, but I'll watch pretty much anything unless it's gratuitously violent or gruesome. I don't usually own copies of movies because I usually try to see something I haven't seen already.

TV: Lately I've been watching The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Supernatural, Mythbusters, The Office, Parks and Recreation and anything on Turner Classic Movies.

Music: 80's rock, some classic and more recent pop. Classical music - especially live.

I've been trying to develop an appreciation for ballet recently.

As it says in the summary, I eat STRICTLY anything. I will not compromise on that and will not consider eating something else.
The six things I could never do without
  1. People, I like to talk
  2. Music
  3. Books, they are educational and entertaining
  4. Writing implements. I like to write down what I'm thinking
  5. A comfortable bed. I need a good night's sleep.
  6. soap: out damn spot
  7. being a rebel: that's right! I put a seventh thing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
whether australopithecus was homophobic

How Daniel Dennett is wrong.

magnetic monopoles

just about everything. Trying to create order out of my random thoughts.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually working, but otherwise going to a movie, play or concert, doing something else with friends, or watching TV.

I like to kick back with a cold six pack of Coca-Cola or Dr. Pepper.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I enjoy corrupting young women by introducing them to polka music.

I read Twilight...Ugh.

I own three toy arks of the covenant.
