I'm an enthusiastic, upbeat, outgoing, somewhat sophisticated, but truly down-to-earth kind of guy who tries to make life exciting, interesting, and fun.
As a college-educated professional, I think you'll find me to be a relatively intelligent man, curious, a good listener, and a particularly good communicator.
I’ve got a d*mn good sense of humor, am playful, young at heart, yet still mature. I especially love to laugh.
My personality is well-balanced and eclectic, with my tastes centering around Arts & Entertainment including Music (Jazz; Latin; R&B, Blues, Motown; Rock; World; Classical; Have played sax & flute).
I also enjoy Theatre, Film (especially old/foreign movies), Museums, Dancing (Swing/Ballroom), Dining out/in (Ethnic; Fine; Casual); Wine (Tastings; Discovering New Wines), Local Stand-up Comedy, and Cooking occasionally.
I love to have fun, and never sit around the house glued to the TV watching endless football games. In fact, I'm not a sports fanatic, and actually watch only a little TV. And, when I do, it's usually something educational like WGBH, The Travel Channel, The Food Network, Charlie Rose, or a great movie.
Although I'm discerning and do have an appreciation of the finer things in life, I'm more casual and not particularly materialistic or Hedonistic. I prefer to think of myself as being inquisitive, not acquisitive. My motto is "Be Appreciative of What You Have, and Don't Regret What You Don't Have". What I highly value most are the things money just can't buy.
As for my sense of style of dress, I tend to lean more towards casual, but I also enjoy donning a suit and tie for a special occasion or to go into Boston for a cultural event.
I love diverse cultures, and thoroughly enjoy traveling and meeting new people, both here or abroad. I especially love Italy and Mexico, and would love to return to explore more. Please be advised, though, that I believe in Moderation of all things, including travel.
I also speak some Italian, and am self-taught. About 2 years ago, I studied 3 semesters of Spanish at night at Harvard University Extension School. At some future point in time, I plan on advancing my fluency further.
Physically, I'm young-looking, relatively active, and fairly well-coordinated. I enjoy playing tennis, and am currently a US-certified Tennis Instructor, as well as a formerly ranked Top 20 player in New England. Be advised, though, that your playing tennis is absolutely not a requirement.
In fact, I'm not obsessively action-oriented and am not an addicted Gym Rat, although I do exercise and try to maintain good health. I also know how to relax, and prefer to think of myself as a Human Being, not a Human Doing.
Professionally, I've been a former Director of Sales & Marketing, as well as an Engineer, although you'd never know it. Indeed, I strongly prefer being with people and sharing good times instead of working alone in a cubicle designing widgets or the Better Mouse Trap. So boring!
For the last dozen years, I've been an Internet Marketing Consultant who helps companies market their products and services online. I also teach tennis part-time, which is something I absolutely love. I firmly believe in the structure of work, but I don't go overboard.
Moderation is the key of everything. This also extends to Politics, although I have some Liberal views as well. In particular, I believe in the restoration of the Middle Class via Government support of SMB's (Small- to Middle-size Businesses), rather than trusting Big Business to trickle down and spread the wealth.
When it comes to religion, I'm Jewish by birth, but non-religious by choice. However, being tolerant and ecumenical, I welcome all persuasions and gladly celebrate holidays of all kinds.
I believe in many of the concepts of Eckhart Tolle and others who believe in the power of The Soul to help people understand themselves, connect with others, and ultimately treat each other well. If I had to ascribe to a religion, it's the religion of Love and its power to heal and unite.
A wee bit more about my eclectic past... I’ve also been a successful software author, book author, and have also been an amateur airplane pilot.
WHAT I SEEK
But, far more important than anything I've said thus far, I feel the necessary ingredients of a loving and lasting relationship include shared values, shared goals, and shared interests.
It's certainly wonderful to have a wealth of activities, interests, likes and dislikes in common. But, sharing values, being a great match in Character & Personality, and having an ardent connection is what truly counts most for me.
Many rich interpersonal experiences and relationships have helped me evolve into a mature, caring, and decent Human Being, and I continue my efforts to become a better person.
To achieve a lasting bond, I feel a great relationship needs to include excellent communication, candor, respect, cooperation, compromise, accommodation, compassion, giving, patience, sharing, honesty, loyalty, friendship, fairness, reliability, integrity, tolerance, love, affection, and romance. Indeed, I'm loving, strong, supportive, and available for a connected relationship.
I'm seeking both a Partner and a Playmate, but a Partner first and foremost. I truly believe my Partner-in-Life should be my best friend and closest confidant.
NOTE #1: To build trust, honesty is always the best policy. My main photo was taken in MAR 2012, and my other photo was taken in JAN 2007. My weight is truly 190 lbs., my age is truly 61 (born August 1951), my height is truly 5'11", and I've truly been Divorced for 18 years (since 1995).
I completely believe in Monogamy, and I never have and never will cheat on my partner. Instead, I prefer to try to amicably iron out differences whenever they arise. I've learned to embrace Conflict as an opportunity to resolve issues and further strengthen a relationship.
NOTE #2: I've put a great deal of time, thought, and effort into constructing this profile. In the spirit of candor and sharing, I've provided honest photos of myself, as well as tried to accurately reveal my true self without exaggeration or misrepresentation.
I will only respond to thoughtful, considerate people who provide honest revealing photos of themselves, and tell me a little about why we might be a good match.
NOTE #3: Unfortunately, it's been my experience that long-distance relationships are difficult to initiate and maintain. In establishing a new relationship, I'm willing to travel up to 25 miles and/or 45 minutes, although I do occasionally make exceptions.
