To begin, I am from the Northwest Indiana area. I was born and raised here, just outside Chicago. It's been nice having a major city really only 45 minutes away by car. When in high school I played the violin in the orchestra and sang bass in the choir. While I did not continue with the violin, I carried on with the singing (pretty much in the car and shower). But, this gave me a better appreciation for music.
I finished my education with a Masters Degree in Computer Graphics. I had moved away for the start of my grad school, but ultimately ended up back here in the area. For the moment I can say I am done with school and am now pursuing a career using what I learned.
For my current employment, I was teaching at local universities. It is a great feeling to give back to others through teaching. I had some great teachers during my time in school, and some pretty bad ones. So, I will try to be the best teacher I know how and understanding of students and their individual needs. Teaching has also helped me become better at speaking with people, or in front of large groups of people. Will say I used to dread giving a speech, now I have become very at ease with this.
I have since moved into a position as a web developer at a local marketing company. The main part of my job is making websites for veterinarians world wide. It is a rather enjoyable job and position, allows me at times to test what I learned throughout school. Now, it may seem strange that we almost exclusively make websites for veterinarians, yet the demand is there. And with how much I love animals, this was a nice change and allows me to help make things that helps their well-being.
As for my personal surroundings, I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Both of my cats stay with my parents, as that the house that they grew up in and have my parents cats as companions. However, I could never see myself living without a dog in my life. I have a husky and a chihuahua, which is a little strange and seems to be from two opposite ends of the spectrum. I used to have the brother to my girl husky, unfortunately lost him a couple years back to cancer. From these two and my one previous dog, huskies are by far my favorite type of dog to own anymore.
From this I hope it shows me to be an educated, motivated, understanding, animal loving type of person. If you want to know anything else, please do drop me a message. I am willing to answer pretty much anything you ask.
***Note: I want to get this out of the way. Yes, I do live in Indiana just outside Chicago. However, I want to clear up that I am only about 40 minutes outside of downtown Chicago. Also, I have absolutely no problem driving up into the city to do things. I try to get up into the city as often as I can anyhow. So please, look past the "distance" as it seems, and really get to know me instead.
