The first thing I want to say is that my name is Kelly and to the awe of many, I am a guy. Some people have met guys named Kelly before and they are a little more understanding, but in my experience the majority of people have a really hard time accepting that Kelly is a unisex name. That being said, an interesting fact is that I was adopted at birth. I grew up always knowing that I was adopted, so it really wasn’t a strange thing for me. When I was 17 I grew curious and decided to find my biological parents to see what they were like. I knew little more than their names, the city I was born in, and that I had a half-sibling. I ended up finding my biological mom through a people finder online and funnily enough I used good ol’ Myspace to find my biological dad. Meeting them for the first time was a very unique experience, and I felt like our personalities meshed from the first moment. Nowadays I'm really good friends with my biological family, and I'm actually going to be in my half-sister's wedding as a groomsman next month.
I grew up in Los Gatos and went to Bellarmine College Preparatory for high school. Like oh so many teenagers I had a rebellious phase and got consistently average to terrible grades. When I graduated I moved out on my own and paid to go to Santa Barbara City College with my friend so that we could have somewhat of the college experience. After two semesters I moved back and I’ve been going to West Valley ever since. I am now 24 years old, and I have spent the past 5 years in community college struggling to find my path and become a more successful student. I’m glad to say that I’ve finally settled on biochemical engineering, and I have hopes of one day transferring to UC Davis to get my bachelor’s degree. I currently live in a house in between Willow Glen and Almaden, with several of my good friends. I work for a company that teaches engineering to elementary school children using LEGO.
As far as interests, I play soccer for a recreational men’s league on Sundays because I love the sport and after studying all week I need to get exercise somehow. I occasionally play video games, and when I do I sometimes get addicted to them until I get really good. My friend recently introduced me to League of Legends, so I’ve been having fun with that for the past month. I also enjoy watching good TV shows. Current favorites include but are not limited to: Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and New Girl. I’m also a fan of watching Sharks hockey and the 49ers. Other than that, I’m a pretty social person most of the time and I love hanging out with friends and getting into shenanigans whenever humanly possible. I’m happy with where I’m at and look forward to what the future holds.
