I am responsible, dedicated, and a bit eccentric.
My Self-Summary
Hello and how do you do? My name is Jennie. My birthday is two days
after Christmas. I believe that everything happens for a reason, no
matter how random or seemingly innocent the event... it all happens
so that you can learn something positive and move forward with your
life.
Okay, me in 30 seconds or less... I don't drink alcohol (no, not
even on special occasions) and don't enjoy going to bars or night
clubs. I recently became a vegetarian (the kind that eats dairy and
fish, although I don't like cheese so I don't eat that dairy) more
because of health than because of any kind of outrage over animal
killings - and I cheat sometimes and still eat meat. What can I
say, sometimes I just want a hamburger from Five Guys!
My favorite resturant is Wagamama in London but PK Noodles on Beach
is pretty darn good too. I love watching Jacksonvile Axemen Rugby.
My favorite flower is a purple rose. I use a lot of British
expressions in every day speech, including British curse words. My
favorite things to do are travel and hang out with friends. Love
going to the movies and once upon a time made an attempt at the
whole film directing thing in California. Still direct a film or
two here in Jax but am not ambitious about it (no interest in
becoming famous) and am much happier now.
Anything else you guys want to know about me - ask - "My life's an
open book. Read it on the radio."
What I’m doing with my life
Working on a master's degree, teaching writing on the University
level, and each day working towards being a good person in general.
I’m really good at
Analyzing movies, listening when someone needs to talk, cooking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I look young and vulnerable, but I have a strong voice - and wicked
glasses!
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books - The Harry Potter series, The Alchemist, Behind the Attic
Wall, Emotional Intelligence, Atonement, the collected plays of
William Shakespeare, collected plays of Samuel Beckett (especially
waiting for Godot), The Pillowman and all of Martin McDonagh's
work, anything that gets me thinking....
Movies - Long list - here's a sampling iin no particular order -
Garden State, NeverEnding Story, Once, Princess Bride, pretty much
anything by Studio Canal (Love Actually, About A Boy, Pride and
Prejudice, etc), Clue, Strictly Ballroom, Slumdog Millionaire,
Goonies, Lord of the Rings, Big Fish, the Harry Potter films,
Atonement, Moulin Rouge, Romeo and Juliet, Bend It Like Beckham,
Sense and Sensibility, In Bruges, Sabrina, Bill and Ted's Excellent
Adventure, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Science of
Sleep, and the Muppets Take Manhattan
TV - even though they don't ask for it - Doctor Who, Torchwood,
Heroes, How I Met Your Mother, Smallville, Supernatural, Ugly
Betty, So You Think You Can Dance, The Office, The Amazing Race,
and pretty much anything on BBC America
Music - I'm very ecclectic in my tastes - movie soundtracks, Taking
Back Sunday, Polyphonic Spree, P!nk, MIA, The Coral, The Killers,
Vast, Joshua Radin, A Fine Frenzy, the list goes on...
Food - Indian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Vegetarian, Italian....
basically ethnic food and health food in general - hot food bar at
Whole Foods rocks!
The six things I could never do without
1. My glasses (or contacts - I'm blind!)
2. my Dog (best dog ever!!!)
3. my family (both biologically and spiritually)
4. My spirituality (notice I don't say religion)
5. Hope
6. reminders not to take myself too seriously
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe and everything, how to improve my life, and just
what I have to do today (trying to stay in today is a good thing)
On a typical Friday night I am
With friends in my spiritual group or going out to dinner/movie
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a strong sense of spirituality, but I'm not a fan of
organized religion in general. And, even though I said it before,
I'll restate - I don't drink and have no interest in going to bars.
You should message me if
If you find anything you read above intriguing and are not just
looking to get laid. I don't believe that sex is something to be
had casually (aka, I may have a good ass, but you ain't getting a
piece of it any time soon!). :)
