I kind of always knew...

...I'd end up your ex-girlfriend.

...I'd end up your ex-girlfriend.

I kind of always knew...

And now for something different...

I might be growing up.

I've tried before. Maybe it will stick this time.

I guess it's about time?

Uncanny

How does my horoscope know me so well?

You are vulnerable to a faux pas today, but you may also find yourself with social opportunities. You have to be extra careful at events where there are big-wigs and important people you know from your career. You'll be entertaining but could say too much.

Story of my life, people. Story. Of. My LIFE.

Uh-oh...

I seem to be a little more crazy than usual.

Sex Without Commitment

Talk to me.

I'm bored.

Talk to me.

Damn. I've been on this site too long.

A surprisingly large number of the "matches I might like" on my OkCupid homepage lately have been men I've already met/dated.

Burn, Baby, Burn!

We all know it. At some point in our lives we've all felt it.

The burning sting of rejection.

Yesterday, I set my own personal record for quickest OkC rejection. There was only about a five-minute window between my sending the message and my receiving his "not interested" reply.

And while his brush-off was perfectly polite (if not perfectly appreciated) it didn't give a reason for his disinterest. Was it because I have a kid? Or an ex-husband? Perhaps he found me hideously unattractive due to an ugly face or too-fat body. Maybe I live too far away or my profile was mind-numbingly boring? My current unemployment could have scared him off (hell, it scares me sometimes, too).

In the end, it could have been anything or everything and it doesn't really matter. He's not interested.

I'm not actually a fan of the "thanks, but no thanks" reply. I see a lot of people on this site bemoaning the fact that they would like a response, even if it's one just to say the recipient is not interested. But not me.

Once I hit send, the person is generally out of my mind. After all, reading a profile and liking it enough to send a message isn't much of a commitment, now is it? If I never hear from them again, then I don't think about them again. It's only when their message pops into my inbox that they also pop back into my consciousness.

With no reply, you never really know if they checked you out. But with a rejection reply, you know they checked you out and found you lacking. Personally, I prefer the former blissful ignorance.

Ah, well. On with the search! ;-)

Burn, Baby, Burn!

Hey, guess what?

I'm divorced!

It seems like an odd thing to celebrate, sure. But after almost THREE YEARS of struggle to make it happen? Well, a little happiness is certainly in order.

Cheers!
