My self-summary
I'm a teacher extraordinaire, world traveler, and amateur guitar loud-noise maker.

Eight years ago the stars aligned and I found myself in a great position to do some traveling, so I took off on what was supposed to be a one year jaunt to Tokyo. I was lucky enough to make my way into the international school circuit, letting me continue my teaching career and live overseas at the same time. After 4 years of hi-grade raw fish and rocking out in karaoke bars, I decided to pack up and head to Brazil for beautiful beaches and a warmer climate. Sadly, nobody told me Belo Horizonte didn't have any beaches. Luckily, what it lacked in coast line, it more than made up for with friendly people, great restaurants, and hundreds of barzinhos. As the chaos of the World Cup ensues in Brazil, I'll be making my way back to my hometown in Connecticut for awhile, then moving to Germany in late July to start my new job.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now, I'm planning my big move to Bonn in July. As my time in Brazil winds down, there're lots of things to plan and prepare for, moving my entire life from Brazil to the United States, then to Europe just one month later. Looking forward to spending some time with friends and family back in CT, as well as the many new challenges and adventures to come in Germany!

Aside from that, just living the dream, fighting the good fight, and letting the good times roll. Wishing I'd picked something way cooler than "Jeremy10404" as my username. I mean, how can I possibly compete with "BuffGymGuy69"? Working in education. Planning the next beach vacation. Occasionally posing as a Brazilian with a poor grasp of Portuguese grammar in Belo Horizonte. Confusing taxi drivers and supermarket employees with grammatically incorrect questions. Searching for the best Brazilian beer (God Save the Queen by Kud so far). Trying to explain where Connecticut is. Understanding 75% of what people say. Enjoying the ex-pat life.
I’m really good at
Explaining what's on my mind using nothing but hand gestures
Ordering the next round of beers in other languages
Making friends with dolphins at the beach
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Love to read! I'm usually in the middle of at least 2 or 3 books. Here's some of my favorites: Born to Run, The Silver Linings Playbook, Down and Out in Paris and London, Angry White Pajamas, Look Me in the Eye, Born on a Blue Day, anything by Haruki Murikami.

Some favorite movies are anything by Wes Anderson, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Old School, Anchorman, Lost in Translation, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Most Hayao Miyazaki movies.

My music tastes are constantly changing, but here are some favs - The Cold War Kids, The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, Pavement, Japandroids, The Black Keys, Divine Fits

On a typical Friday night I am
Could be watching reruns of The League, strumming the guitar, out for dinner and drinks with friends, or making mischief with gringos.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Of the places I've lived, Tokyo still feels the closest to home for me. Even though I love the movie, I'll often avoid watching Lost in Translation because it makes me homesick.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–35
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, short-term dating
You should message me if
Well, to be honest, I'm moving around a bit at the moment, so I can't do the long term thing. But I would love to meet someone to have a few beers with, talk about travels, listen to some live music, go for a hike or a bike ride, and try out whatever amazing hole in the wall restaurants have popped up over the last few years I've been living abroad. If I happen to meet someone who's path syncs up with mine, that would be great too!
