I am easy going, humble, and fun-loving.
My Self-Summary
Hopeless romantic that still believes there’s someone out there for
everyone. I hold the door for the ladies (and pretty much anyone
behind me, since Mom taught me politeness and courtesy). I believe
chivalry is not dead - it's just hiding out there with acid washed
jeans, waiting to come back into style. I can get attached quickly,
sometimes too quickly, but I’ve learned moderation in my years.
Again, hopeless romantic that believes relationships are worth
every minute you get, otherwise why bother? Throw in
photography,
geocaching, and the fact
that I’m a Navy veteran, because it wouldn’t be a summary without
them, and I’m as normal as anyone else. Just depends on your
definition of normal.

What I’m doing with my life
Learn and explore everything that I can. Life is a journey, not a
destination. You never stop learning. Every day I try to make
myself a better person and contribute something to “life” while I’m
here on this mortal coil. Whether it’s giving a few bucks to
someone on a street that could use it, a smile and small talk while
in line at the drug store to someone that looks depressed, or
volunteering my time photographing at a homeless shelter for a
Mother’s Day benefit, I believe that everything counts and helps
that “pay it forward” concept.

I’m really good at
Picking up on others emotions, which is a blessing and a curse at
the same time. Letting others talk and share and vent, without
feeling the need to be a “Topper”. Photography &
Photoshop, well pretty
good anyway. Enough that I’ve made a decent side-gig out of it. A
few other interesting obsessions that I’d be happy to share with
you eventually…
The first things people usually notice about me
My long hair, I suppose, followed by my easy going and laid back
nature. Also, my sometimes dry sense of humor that doesn’t get too
overbearing, and the fact that I can let someone else have their
moment in the spot light without feeling the need to say “me too”.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I’m not a big book reader, as I read my share in the Navy to pass
the time, but I pick up an occasional book here and there. I’ve
been casually learning about Buddhism, so I've read a few books on
the topic, and I suppose you could count books on Photoshop or any
other topic/hobby I pick up. Can’t forget art-photo books
either.
I have a few favorite movies, represented by the handful of DVDs I
own: Army of Darkness (ok, anything with Bruce Campbell), This is
Spinal Tap (Mine goes to 11), Blues Brothers (We’re on a mission
from God), Animal House (Food fight!), A Christmas Story (I still
have a Red Rider BB gun I got in 1977), and Secretary (Assume the
position).
Music and food? I’ll pretty much listen to anything but rap and
country, unless forced to. I prefer rock and alternative/whatever
they call it these days, and I’ve been enjoying a renaissance of
80s music I didn’t appreciate at the time. Being a metalhead in
high school meant I missed out on Depeche Mode and other great
music at the time, so now I play catch-up. Food? Anything spicy
catches my attention. I live for
hot sauce, and after I found some
great salsa while visiting a friend in NM, I managed to locate it
here, too. I also meet up with good friends for dinner from time to
time, but some days, nothing beats a good home cooked meal.

The six things I could never do without
Never is such a strong word. I can do without many things, but
there are things I’d be less happy if I didn’t have:
1-
Coffee. Yes,
caffeine. I needz it.
2- My computer for internet and Photoshop.
3- Netflix. Not a big TV fan, but I give my DVD player a workout
when I can.
4- Cell phone. Not as bad as some I know, but I like to keep in
touch, even if it’s just a text to say “I’m thinking about
you”
5- Handheld GPS. Geocaching is a fun way to exercise that doesn’t
feel like exercise.
6- One more thing, but that’ll come after you get to know me. Trust
me, it’s fun. ;-)

I spend a lot of time thinking about
What to put here. Ok, that doesn’t count. Hmm, my time is split
between a handful of things, but no one takes precedence over
another. Remember the Buddhism mentioned above? I try not to worry
about anything in particular, “needless suffering”, but I do make
sure day to day concerns are taken care of. Pay the bills, feed the
cats and myself, bathe regularly, go to work… Time spent thinking?
Perhaps new ways to occupy my free time. Know any you want to
share?

On a typical Friday night I am
Either home with a Netflix, or out with a group of friends. Kinda
depends on which Friday it is lately.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Hmm not much yet. I just got here, and I barely know you. Chat me
up over good coffee & discover my deep dark twisted secrets.
You might like them. Everyone else does ;-)

You should message me if
You found any of the above remotely interesting or maybe at some
point said “hey, me too!”
Or if you know what
Shibari means. Then we should talk.
