I'm constantly learning new things that I usually don't end up having much use for, other than for my own personal enjoyment. Something will just catch my interest I have to read up on it for weeks at a time.
I enjoy watching movies and reading (both books and comics). I love a variety of tv series and films, which has turned me into a hopeless Netflix viewer.
I'm into archery, though I'm no expert at it. I've even been known to get out to the range every so often.
I'm a perpetual learner of the bass guitar. At this point, I should probably just bite the bullet and take lessons.
In the past few years, I’ve gotten a taste for travelling. I have been making mostly yearly trips down to Florida to visit friends and go to Megacon--a comic book convention. It’d be awesome to get out to San Diego for Comic-Con sometime, but it hasn’t been in the cards for me yet. I’d also like to travel a bit more throughout the U.S. and eventually get out of the country to take a look at the rest of world.
I'm looking for someone that shares some of the same geeky interests as me, so being into comics, video games, or a wide variety of books is a huge plus!
Please, shoot me a message if there's anything you want to know. Just ask and I'll be more than willing to answer.
I'm quick to learn new things, whether it's film techniques or a new board game.
14, Boneshaker and the other Clockwork Century novels, Daemon, Dresden Files, The Martian, Monster Hunter International, Pushing Ice, Spin. Some of my go-to authors are Alistair Reynolds, Cherie Priest, H.P. Lovecraft, Philip K. Dick, and Richard Matheson. That's just a few.
DMZ, The Goon, Hellboy, Locke & Key, Sixth Gun, Swamp Thing (current and Alan Moore's), Tank Girl, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (both the current and the 80s), and Wasteland. I'll read most anything thrown at me though. Suggestions?
Batman, Blade Runner, Cabin in the Woods, Chronicle, Cloverfield, Dark City, Drive, The Fifth Element, The Fountain, Ghostbusters, I'm Reed Fish, Iromman, Jurassic Park, Kick-Ass, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Mad Max (and Road Warrior), Mallrats, Moon, Robocop, Scott Pilgrim, Seven Psychopaths, SLC Punk, Spider-Man, Star Wars (big surprise), and Zombieland. I'm also a fan of pretty much any 007 flick. There's a load more, but we'll keep it "short" and sweet on this list.
I don't have cable and do pretty fine without it. Most of what I watch is on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Some shows I may or may not admit spending a whole day watching are: Agents of SHIELD, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Battlestar, Being Human (more so the UK one, but the US is alright too), Bones, Doctor Who, Dresden Files, Farscape, Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, The Guild, Heroes, How I Met Your Mother, Invisible Man, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, Lost, MacGyver, MI-5, The Office, Scrubs, Sliders, Sons of Anarchy, Supernatural, Torchwood, Twilight Zone, and Warehouse 13. Lately I've been into The Flash and The Walking Dead.
I'm really all over the place when it comes to games, but here's a general idea of what I like: Assassin's Creed, Borderlands, Civ, Dragon's Age, Fallout, Little Big Planet, Metro, Neverwinter Nights, SimCity, Skyrim, Uncharted, XCOM, and way too many others.
Like games, I'm really into music too. I got my start liking Ska, but I've branched out my tastes a lot since then: Against Me!, Aquabats, Blood Red Shoes, Duke Spirit, Epoxies, Flight of the Conchords, Gogol Bordello, HorrorPops, Jim's Big Ego, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, The Kills, Less Than Jake, Mad Caddies, Mad Marge & The Stonecutters, Metric, The Offspring, The Ordinary Boys, Ramones, Reel Big Fish, Rise Against, The Sounds, The Tossers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Alright, this is where things get abruptly short. I wouldn't say I'm a picky eater, but I do have a bit of stuff I stay away from. It's really just a texture thing. I could probably eat fish for every meal, but I also have a hard time saying "no" to Chinese food. There's a few Italian dishes I like and some safe Mexican dishes (tacos and nachos, haha).
My mind (I'd go crazy without it, though that might not be such a bad thing)

I also think I might know nearly everything about Star Wars. No, seriously, quiz me sometime.
-You ever wanted to, or currently want to, be MacGuyver.
-You're passionate about something creative.
-You want to throw Star Wars references around.
-That's no moon, it's a space station.
