Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Originally from Denver. Spent 12 years living in Sweden and Norway
conducting research at the intersection of computer science,
psychology and sociology, mostly to improve healthcare
Had a great life overseas, professionally and outside of work. I
also learned some interesting stuff. For example, people used to
tell me not worry because "The sun will always come up tomorrow".
They were wrong, because when you live in Tromsø the sun does not
come up for two months actually. I also learned silence does not
have to be uncomfortable, it's better when parents are not allowed
to hit their kids, when there is less poverty, and when women are
more equal. We should change that here.
End of 2012 I was given an offer I can't refuse from Google and
moved to Silicon Valley. Diversity, sunshine, it had a lot to
offer. But Mountain View was boring, I don't like long commutes,
and then got an offer to transfer to the Boulder office. So here I
am, back in my home state after 14 years away.
I play flamenco guitar and go snowboarding in my spare time. Used
to VJ but don't actively look for gigs anymore. Want to start
running a bunch after reading "Born to Run.
I am looking for something serious, or not if you are fun to be
around and not the right type for committing.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Listening to NPR. My job. Watching funny stuff on Youtube like
Jerry Springer fights, memes and cats. Playing my guitar. Putting
together IKEA furniture. Working out. Hitting the like button on my
friends' Facebook posts. Still enjoying reading articles about
conservatives having their feelings deeply hurt by the re-election
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
socio-technical design, trigger point massage, rasgueo (compared to
normal people but not compared to great flamencos)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I wear a gold "doktorsring" on my left ring finger. You get them in
Sweden when you finish your Ph.D. and it makes me look married.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Sex. Music. Friends. Peace. Quiet. Laughs. Love.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where will I settle down? With what type of woman? How tall, what
sort of fashion style, and will she be good at math or maybe artsy
stuff? Will I start a company some day or stay with this big corp
or maybe move back to academia? Is that "lagom" or too much or too
little? I wonder if I will use my savings at some point to just fly
away to the beach for 3 years or so. What is the best restaurant in
my neighborhood? Should I clean my apartment, or just enjoy my
mess? Is it more shallow for man to be attracted to a woman for her
looks, or for a woman to be attracted to a man for being a
musician? Those flowers I just walked past smell pretty nice.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Home playing my guitar with Netflix on in the background.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I think women that are a few years younger than me are hot, and the
fact that some people think that is bad makes it more fun.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You think professionally oriented guys in their 30's are hot. You
are fun to be around and have self-distance. You are looking for
something serious. You are not crazy.
